Stockholm marathon - in the bag! ๐ธ๐ช
And deary me, it was PUNISHING ๐ฅต
25 degrees, humid and HILLY. And it was PACKED!
I stopped at EVERY aid station, hugged my cousin all three times I went past, and had a boogie at the rave tents. No PB this time, but sometimes you gotta go with the vibe ๐ฅฐ
Yes, my cousin is certifiably insane, and we had the most wholesome weekend and Iโm so grateful โค๏ธ

I know people hate hearing this, but there is no such thing as a โhealthy tan.โ A tan is literally your skin going into defence mode. ๐ญ
And the frustrating part is that the damage often doesnโt properly show itself until years later. People think theyโve gotten away with it because theyโre young and their skin still looks decent.

MALE JAWLINE FILLER? ๐จ๐
Jawline filler for men is so underrated. And I donโt know why itโs not talked about more because just LOOK at this result.
This patient came to me wanting more definition in his lower face. His jaw was recessed and a little soft at the edges. It wasnโt giving him the structure his face deserved.
So I carefully placed filler carefully along the jawline to project and define. And suddenly everything just looks sharper, more masculine, and more him.

FILLER FOR JOWLS??? ๐คจ
Thereโs a huge difference between disguising something and actually improving it. And I think social media is always blurring this line.
A lot of before and afters online are really showing camouflage rather than true correction. Which is fine! Camouflage has value, BUT patients should know the difference.
Too much filler can very quickly make things look heavy, especially in the lower face.
The best aesthetic outcomes usually come from knowing the limits of a treatment, not trying to force filler to do a job it was never designed to do.
Can a small amount of filler be used to improve jowls in the right patient? 100%.
But trying to recreate a surgical result with filler? Thatโs where people can run into trouble.

โSALMON S***M FACIALSโ? ๐๐ฆ Yepโฆ ๐คฎ thatโs gotta be one of the worst marketing terms ever created.
It sounds outrageous, which is obviously why some people have latched onto it. But I do think these kinds of treatments end up getting massively overhyped because of that kind of branding.
A treatment can be:

Mildly helpful
โ
Reasonably safe
โ
Useful in the right patient
โฆwithout being revolutionary.
Not everything has to be the โnext big thingโ or some magical age-reversing breakthrough.
For me, polynucleotides fall into the category of supportive treatments. Potentially nice for skin quality, tissue support, and regeneration when used appropriately. But subtle.
And subtle isnโt a bad thing by the way!
I think social media has just distorted peopleโs expectations to the point where everyone expects a single treatment to completely transform their face. Thatโs not how good aesthetics works.

This. This is the result I am always chasing
When your skin is the best itโs ever been. When people tell you that you look different but nobody can work out why. When you look in the mirror and just feel GOOD. ๐
So what did we do?
First, Sculptra as the foundation. I cannot bang on about this stuff enough. It rebuilds your collagen, restores the contours, brings back the V-shape that youth gives you and age steals away. Temples, hairline, jawline.
Then a little HA filler to reshape the chin and soften the marionettes. Tidy up the floppy bits. Job. done. ๐
The power of doing it this way (foundation first, then the fine details) is beyond compare. And the fact that the results last two years? A huge plus.
