Members of our South Wales Regional team gathered in Ebbw Vale recently, as organised by Karen, Regional Manager, to discuss recruitment strategies, with operational team members also dialling in to the meeting to provide their insight on the future of CCH recruitment.

In a day packed with ideas, initiatives and smiles surrounding the current and future state of the South Wales region, colleagues had a wonderful time catching up with one another.

Branch Managers were also handed daffodils and a chocolate gift bag ahead of their St. David's Day celebrations! 🌼🍫

Huge congratulations to Tracey Webster, Branch Manager, for completing 250,000 steps in one month in aid of supporting children and young adults with cancer.

A monumental feat in support of an amazing cause.

Last week, the Homecare association hosted a conference covering a range of topics focused on innovation and progress in homecare. Amanda Morgan was invited as a speaker to provide first-hand experiences from our frontline.

In a panel on upskilling and retaining the workforce, Amanda Morgan shared the stage with sector gurus, relaying her first-hand experiences from our frontline. Amanda explained that both her and her colleagues are often seen as just care workers even though there is a lot of medical insight needed to do their job well. “We change catheters, safely hoist those with disabilities, give medication, update medical records, and monitor the wellbeing of the people we look after. I have saved lives and supported people for the past 20 years. But at times our experience is undervalued. Recently I called a GP with concerns about one of my service users and was ignored because they questioned my knowledge as just a care worker. I had to beg to get them the medical attention they needed”, said Amanda.

She was crowned as an inspiration. Her words brought an eruption of applause and tears from audience members. One thanked her for her openness explaining that they got "goosebumps”, another noted the importance of educating society on the heroic role of care work.

Thank you to the Homecare Association and Jane Townson OBE for the enlightening day. We hope the spirit of innovation and collaboration continues to move the sector to new heights.
