Turn that frown upside down 😠➡️🙃!!

Our facial expressions are part of our personality, they give us individuality and for many is a means of communication. My lovely patient here considered injectables for a while, but was previously apprehensive because he did not want the treatment to look ‘obvious’, or his face to appear ‘expressionless’. The ‘before’ pictures on the left, prior to any treatment demonstrate visible horizontal static lines to the frontal plane of the forehead, and vertical glabella lines between the brows. This is a very effective area of which to treat with botulinum toxin, and in this case we used Botox®. The pictures on the right are three weeks post treatment. As you can see, static lines are improved, and much to his delight my patient is still able to frown 😆.

As always, in order to maintain skin integrity and prevent further signs of ageing, a balanced diet, good skincare routine and daily SPF is advised.

(Sorry for having to post my face twice, reposted minus hashtags - it seems I had caused offence and was reported. A bit dramatic but lesson learned!).

So that you can put a face to a name….💁🏻‍♀️.

A bit about me… I am the clinical lead of an acute care podiatry department in a large London hospital. I prescribe independently and specialise in advanced woundcare techniques, working alongside infectious diseases teams, dermatologists, diabetes specialists and vascular surgeons. I have worked as a podiatrist in the NHS (and privately) for 10 years. Prior to that I spent years working in the beauty industry for large brands including Estée Lauder and Yves Saint Laurent, where I discovered my love of skin-care and beauty.

I started my medical aesthetics journey a year ago, and I’ve been very fortunate to train with some of the best on Harley Street. My motto has and will always be to provide safe, high quality care to all of my patients, regardless of the nature of their treatment to achieve healthy, natural and desirable outcomes.

I wanted to share my gratitude to my followers, and my fabulous new patients I have had the pleasure of treating. Very much look forward to expanding and sharing my journey with you all.

Love, Neala 🤍

Plumping, natural lips ➡️👄.

Hyaluronic acid is the key molecule involved in the moisture and youthfulness of the skin and lips. One of the main components of hyaluronic acid filler for lip augmentation is it’s capacity to retain water, diminishing fine lines in the lip skin.

My patient has naturally beautiful lips with a well-defined vermillion border (lip line) and Cupid’s bow. Despite the use of topical lip balms and maintaining optimal hydration levels, small cracks and vertical lines have developed with time. The tubercles (belly of the lips) have also lost some plumpness.

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler was injected into the upper and lower tubercles of the lips to add moisture, create volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines. To maintain a natural definition of the vermillion border, a small amount of botulinum toxin was injected in the upper orbicularis oris muscle (directly above the lip), which compliments the procedure nicely. 💖
