After a few requests, I wanted to go back and cover another early stage that I skipped over, architect pricing.

I’m not an expert, and this isn’t professional advice. I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned while going through our own loft conversion, in case it helps someone else who’s just starting their renovation journey.

I realised I’d jumped straight into planning without talking about some of these practical first steps, so I’m trying to fill in the gaps as we go. I hope it’s useful, and as always, thank you for all your questions and suggestions.

Before moving further into pricing and detailed planning, I wanted to take a step back and cover something I completely skipped over at the beginning of this journey, how to find an architect.

A few of you asked for this, and it made me realise I jumped straight into the planning stage without properly explaining this first step. So I thought it would be useful to go back and share what I did and what I would recommend if you’re starting your own renovation or build project.

I’ve been going through more of your questions and suggestions on our loft plans because I really want to make sure we’re all aligned before anything gets finalised. I genuinely appreciate how much thought and detail you’ve all put into your comments, it’s been incredibly helpful.

Time did its thing. 🤍

Two years ago we planted this star jasmine, and now it’s completely transformed this corner of the garden. It’s amazing what a little patience, care and time can do.

I wanted to take some time to answer a few of the questions and suggestions you’ve all been sharing about our loft plans. There have already been so many helpful comments, and I’m genuinely grateful for everyone who’s taken the time to share their ideas and experiences.
