Today was the last day of my 8 months contract 🙃

It’s been great to get the brain working again post lockdown, remembering how to use excel, learning new skills and meeting new people & fellow freelancers.

My 8 month contract is coming to an end next month. Some things I’ve learnt post lockdowns…

• Virtual events… NOT. A. FAN.
• My 🖤 of colour coding excel spreadsheets will never dwindle.
• Attendees STILL don’t read registration website content or their Final Logistics Information (JIs) 😤

What have you learnt? ⬇️

The world of virtual events and webinars has been a steep learning curve for me. (I still have a Filofax for God’s sake 😂)

Pair that with managing thousands of delegates in multiple time zones, this week was tough… I don’t cope well with lack of sleep or being nocturnal, but feedback like this and hard graft not going unnoticed made it all worthwhile ✨

Pre-covid, which I like to call 2020 BC (before covid), you’d rock up to work onsite at an event, armed with 3 different lip balms in the hope of keeping the dreaded at bay. The combination of air conditioning, lack of sleep and being fuelled solely on sugar and caffeine (“I’m going to be really good on-site and not eat any s**t and only drink peppermint tea” 🤣) takes its toll.

I don’t know whether it’s the constant mask wearing, and lack of make up from the bridge of your nose down, but my lips are drier than Ghandi’s Flip Flop 🤣
