JOURNAL PROMPT: What's my idea of success?
On the back of my last post about being more willing to share, I realised my reluctancy to create content this way from the beginning steamed from fear. Fear of being seen and most of all fear of failing.
Since then I've spent some time journaling/reflecting on where these emotions come from, how I can reframe them and what they tell me about my current idea of success. Like many of us perfectionism is a friend I know all too well, one that has contributed greatly to my fear of failure.
"Everything has to be perfect, first time round, no excuses."
This simply isn't true. And for a long time I've allowed the limiting belief to stop me from trying. From simply snapping a product photo on my iPhone, or having a chit chat on our stories. Not every product image needs to be taken by a professional camera and edited to perfection, not every chit chat needs to be carefully thought out and scripted.
This week I've made a promise to remind myself that when I feel overwhelmed by the fear of getting something wrong, to take a breathe and to do it anyways. When we do this, we live, we experience and we learn.
So what's your current idea of success? For now, mine is simply showing up.
Ask yourself this week, does my idea of success allow me to grow? to experience new things? to celebrate when I show up? and if the answers to these questions is no, I challenge you to make a promise to yourself, to feel the fear and do it anyways.
If you're in comment below challenge accepted!!
PS: As I was writing this caption I couldn't help but think of the spring collaboration we had with the amazing . A good start definitely does make a good end!

Let's be REAL, currently as it stands I suck at content creation!
Yes it's okay to laugh, I'm laughing too 😭🤦🏾♀️, but I must say I had a really frank conversation with myself yesterday as I sat in Southbank 'trying' to create some kind of plan that would resemble a half decent content calendar. 😅
As you’ve probably guessed the first couple hours were not fruitful 🥹, the usual excuses of not having enough time & balancing a full time job ran through my head along with feelings of frustration and honestly failure. And then I had a tiny thought that challenged me.
“You hate being a beginner don’t you?” 🤔
And the truth is I really really do! Being a beginner means starting off rubbish, failing forward and most of all having patience. And just like that I realised two things yesterday that have completely changed my perspective!
1. Having social media presence is a SKILL. One that I have to LEARN.
2. My content CANNOT exist entirely outside of myself.
To date, the content I’ve created and posted has been extremely impersonal, but yet Latitude’s business ethos, goals and products are designed to be quite the opposite. I’ll start by admitting that the kind of content Latitude needs in order to grow in the direction I want it to requires me to be vulnerable. To be honest and open about my own journey with introspection and how this underpins everything Latitude does.
So I’ve decided to try something new, a content schedule that requires me to open up more, foster relationships and have conversations with you all. A content calendar that’s a bit more vulnerable. Hopefully by sticking to it we can begin to grow together in a way that celebrates our human experience, our healing, our journeys and that brings Latitude to life in a way that edifies us all. ✨
Ps: Please be patient with me. I will get it wrong sometimes 😂, but am super excited to get the ball rolling.
What a weird post! They say to get new results you have to try new things… so here’s to trying new things… 🥂💃🏾❤️
