Sometimes we just want to know “what’s possible”?

This quarter inside Reclaim & Recover,

We’ve celebrated:

A mum of 2 under 5 receiving her black belt.
She stopped martial arts after her 2nd C-section because pain and a belly that looked 4 months pregnant made her feel completely debilitated.
She consistently tells me she’s so grateful.

A first time mum ditching pain that she felt everywhere and dropped 2 dress sizes as an added bonus! . Her words: “is this real?”

A mum of 2 school aged children rocking a sexy swimsuit and creating memories on holidays in Greece when 6 months before she was about to cancel the whole thing because of how she felt about her body and the lack of confidence it resulted in,
“No one has coached me like you; I’m listening to your breathing, visualisations and reframing techniques on REPEAT!”

Having a mummy pouch for the rest of your life is not something you've signed up for just because you had a C-section!

There are other things that come with being a mum but a C-section apron and back pain for life aren't part of the list.

When mums start working with me they fall in to 2 categories:

1) the mum who has resigned to the idea that it is what it is and it's normal and therefore she puts up with it.

2) the opposite end of the spectrum - the mum who returned to running or bootcamp 2 weeks post C-section and now has to live with wearing spanks and pads and possibly on ibuprofen.

I fell into the first group but then realised that I wouldn't be able to make memories with my girls and remembered who I was and came to the conclusion that living a life where all the things I loved to wear, everything I stood for and all the dreams I aspired to outside of mamahood were off the cards.

Nah, I definitely didn't sign up to that and neither have you lovely!

The pic shows me stuck in the car with my toddler fast asleep while missing the wedding of the year (my husband's niece got married and seriously Harry's and Megan's royal wedding was nothing compared to this). Was I pi**ed off initially? Yes, I was....but was then able to hear what was going on and in the most beautiful Dorset countryside!

I see you mama when years post your C-section your self esteem is down in the dumps.

C-section pain & pouch are common, but not normal & no mum should have to put up with it!

You had a C-section months or years ago and still haven’t returned to running because pain stops you in your tracks or your pelvic floor isn’t loving the impact.

The only clothes you’re wearing have the dimensions of a tent and you’ve missed out on making memories with your little ones because of the way your overhang looks and the way it makes your self-esteem shrink to the size you wish your tummy was.

You’re feeling debilitated but that’s to be expected after a C-section, right?

I am here to tell you that’s total and utter BS and you can get rid of pain and reclaim your body months and years after your C-section.

The shoulder and neck rescue masterclass is all about releasing tight shoulders and necks.
We will be looking at postural alignment when seated and standing, as that is the root cause of shoulder and neck pain.
We then focus on mobilising and strengthening your whole shoulder girdle and move your shoulder blades and upper body in ways you never thought possible with integrity and strength!
The neck release part of the masterclass is a series of stretches and self massage techniques that will melt away your tension, tightness and pain. This masterclass will give you the tools to help you maintain health and wellbeing in your shoulders and neck.

MUM & BABY POSTNATAL RECOVERY COURSE IN MELTON

The classes are for mums and babies, however the focus is on you! Pilates is very beneficial at this time as it is all about bringing it back together, pulling it back in. Enjoy regaining stability and strength, increase energy levels and learn techniques to support your posture and every day activities with your baby.

Babies are welcome along too. I set the room up to include bouncy chairs and mats so you can have your little one beside you. I am more than happy to hold and cuddle babies who need some attention, so you can do your exercise.

If you feel your body isn’t yours anymore, my post-natal Pilates course will help you to reconnect to it. We will work from the inside out activating your core and pelvic floor to restore function and strength using breathing, movement and resistance using thera bands and other small equipment.

Summer Masterclasses - Sort out your body with these fun and jam packed exercise sessions in

TONIGHT - Monday 2 August at 6.30pm & 7.45pm and Tuesday 3 August at 9.30am

The aim of this session is to improve your posture, reduce tension in your body, diminish pain, feel calmer and restore your entire body by using sequences.


Monday 9 August at 6.30pm & 7.45pm and Tuesday 10 August at 11am

We will start off with Pilates core exercises to get the foundations and then look at ways to functionally strengthen the core. No crunch or plank in sight, we will be strengthening your core the crunchless way, with you using your own body weight to create load. The core connection class will give you the tools to do any functional activities, such as pushing, pulling, lifting and shifting, with ease and using your core rather than your lower back.

Happy Backs
Monday 16 August at 6.30pm & 7.45pm and Tuesday 17 August at 9.30am

To understand what makes a back a happy one, we will be looking at how to sit efficiently and which postural adjustments are needed. The whole of your back line, from your feet all the way up to your neck will go through a combo of release, mobilisation and strengthening exercises and techniques and bring the spring back into your spine.

Free 🔥Sciatica/Piriformis Syndrome🔥 Workshop Thursday 13th May, 7.30pm BST

What exactly is “Piriformis Syndrome”?

This is when the piriformis muscle irritates the sciatic nerve which can cause a pins and needles sensation down the leg. This is because the sciatic nerve runs underneath (and in some cases, through) the piriformis muscle.

Piriformis Syndrome is often exacerbated from:
❌sitting for a long time
❌excessive stretching or pressure to pirifromis
❌long walks/runs
