You don’t need to stop exfoliating…
you just need to stop overdoing it, over scrubbing and overwhelming your skin.

Exfoliate properly a few times a week ✨😇 smoother, calmer skin
Exfoliate too much 😵 🌵🌶️ irritation, dryness, texture and stripped skin barrier

It’s not about doing more ❌
it’s about doing it Right ✨🤎✔️

If you find yourself overdoing it time and time again then this is for you.
Signs of a compromised skin barrier:
- Redness, Irritation, Inflamed Skin, Pain or burning when applying products.
It’s not fun but it’s very common. In this day and age new beauty products are being formulated rapidly and new ingredients pop up even faster.

Sometimes it’s best to bring your routine back to basics. That’s the beauty of coffee scrubs. They exfoliate but heal your skin at the same time.

Gentle exfoliation a few times a week can help restore your barrier even if you just apply it and don’t massage it in. The coffee helps to heal, salt inside will cleanse and the oils help repair your skin lipids ✨🤎

Bad things happen when you do too much 😭

It’s the same energy as over-washing your hair until it’s dry and brittle, or brushing your teeth so hard you wear the enamel down.

More isn’t better… it just starts causing damage.

And that’s exactly what’s happening when you’re constantly exfoliating, layering acids, or scrubbing harder because your skin “still feels rough.” Your skin never actually gets a chance to recover, so it ends up tight, irritated, and somehow still textured… which makes you think you need even more.

But your skin already has layers of dead skin sitting on top. You don’t need to remove all of it at once, you just need to take a little off consistently and let your barrier do its job.

That’s when your skin actually starts to feel smooth again not when you go harder, but when you stop overdoing it. 🤎☕️

Bad things happen when you do too much 😭

Like imagine rough sanding a table every single day and expecting it to get smoother… you’d ruin the surface. It’s the same energy as over-washing your hair until it’s dry and brittle, or brushing your teeth so hard you wear the enamel down.

You’re not “dry’’ .. your follicles are clogged.

Those tiny bumps that are red/white and look worse after shaving? That rough texture that won’t go away?
It could be keratosis pilaris (KP) aka Chicken/Strawberry skin and it’s caused by a buildup of keratin blocking your hair follicles. It’s super common.

And instead of smooth skin…you get layers sitting on top of each other and is most common in areas where you shave.

And here’s where most people get stuck 👇🏽 They moisturise more, Or scrub harder or go crazy with Actives that sometimes cause more irritation.

But:
❌ moisturiser can’t get through buildup
❌ harsh scrubbing makes irritation worse

✨ KP isn’t about doing more
✨ it’s about clearing the pathway gently

This is where coffee-based exfoliation can be the solution if you suffer with this common issue:

☕ lifts stubborn dead skin buildup
☕ supports circulation (thanks to natural caffeine)
☕ leaves skin soft + conditioned .. not stripped ☺️

So your skin can finally:
🤎 absorb hydration
🤎 feel smoother
🤎 look more even

It’s not just “dry skin” It’s how your skin is functioning.

If your arms and legs look like this.. Yeah… that’s not just dry skin. 🌵

What is it? It’s likely to be the pesky and common skin complaint keratosis pilaris (KP). Why does this happen? it happens when your skin produces too much keratin, which clogs your hair follicles.

So instead of smooth skin… you get buildup. And here’s the part no one tells you 👇🏽

You can moisturise all you want… layering on thick creams with ceramides and the like but if that buildup is still there, your products are just sitting on top.

And That’s why skin scan still feel: rough 🌵bumpy
🌵 dry (even after moisturising)

And then most people do this…scrub harder, start picking skin & covering up more. Which actually makes it worse by irritating the skin barrier.

✨ The goal isn’t to scrub more
✨ it’s to exfoliate properly

This is where coffee scrubs come in:

☕ help lift stubborn dead skin buildup
☕ support circulation (thanks to natural caffeine)
☕ and leave skin conditioned — not stripped

So your skin can finally:
✔ absorb hydration
✔ feel smoother
✔ look more even

It’s not about attacking your skin… irritating it with extra clothes
it’s about helping it function properly again 💕✨🌵

Your skin isn’t “dry”…
it’s layered.

The outer layer of your skin is made up of mostly dead skin cells and when they build up, they block hydration from getting in.
Underneath the 23 layers of your Stratum Corneum is billions of healthy new cells. Coffee scrubs help to safely remove a few of the top layers needed to keep your barrier healthy and smooth. Without the irritation. Always go gently and let the scrub do the work ☕️ 🚿

Without exfoliating, no matter how much moisturiser you use…
it just sits there.

That’s why skin can feel:
– rough
– flaky
– tight
– dull

✨ It’s not about adding more
✨ It’s about removing what’s in the way

Hydration only works when your skin can actually absorb it.

How to use: Apply to Damp Skin, Gently Scrub, Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes to let the ingredients absorb and then wash away for gorgeous, glowing skin. ✨♥️

You thought it was just dry skin 🌵 but dryness is often a symptom not the root cause.

When your skin barrier is compromised, water escapes faster than it can be replaced (this is called transepidermal water loss “TEWL”).
That’s when skin starts to feel rough, tight, flaky… no matter how much moisturiser you apply.

Studies on coffee (Coffea arabica) extract have shown it can actually help reduce inflammation, support the skin barrier, and lower TEWL meaning your skin can hold onto hydration better, not just sit products on top of it. Which is exactly what’s in our scrubs. Paired with Cleansing Salt and Natural Oils to nourish it’s great to help repair skin. Go gently though ✨ and let the scrub do the work.

📖 One study (International Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2023) found coffee extract helped:
– reduce inflammatory markers
– improve skin barrier proteins
– decrease water loss from the skin

So instead of just adding more moisturiser… you need to fix what’s underneath it.

✨ Smoother skin isn’t about layering more it’s about helping your skin function properly again, helping to restore the lipid content of your skin.
