Speech is the most important method of communicating intelligently with others. Effective communication paves the way for us to realise our life aims, be it within our careers or our family lives. The power of communication is often overlooked. Mankind’s move into the age of technology has brought about many devices that have led to the reduction of our interpersonal skills and many of us are left struggling to organise our thoughts and communicate ideas effectively. When you make a conscious decision to pay attention to improving the vital skill of communication and public speech, the benefits in confidence and speech ability are often immediate. So why not practice this skill at home in the mirror or with a friend and attain mastery immediately you may ask? You can, and it will be a hard and desperate task. The benefits are much more easily attainable and permanent when learning within the safe environment of a group of like-minded individuals, who are also trying to improve the same skills that you are. At ACTION, our aim is the building up of a pool of the future leaders in the UK African and Caribbean community and we want you to be a part of it. Within our group we have an unlimited power to develop ourselves and spread the benefits out to our surrounding communities. Come along to one of our events, even if it is the last time you come! Put all your expectations aside, and come with an open mind. Many new members have made the leap and have given unlimited amounts of gratitude for the setting up of our group. We believe that the best way to learn is by doing. It is through regular practice that you will improve. If you become a member, the club will give you many opportunities to practice your speaking and leadership skills. ACTION CLUB also provides regular workshops to add to the standard Toastmasters events. Above all, we believe that learning and fun should go together. At ACTION CLUB we work hard on our skills but try not to take ourselves too seriously. As well as the relaxed vibe, there is a strong social scene with some people always staying behind past finishing time to get to know each other. At ACTION you will learn:
