Woollen Whippets & Co is a needle felting business, specialising in creating miniature furry versions of your family pet(s). Now I am well and truly hooked!

From a bundle of wool emerges a one of a kind personalised pet, whether it be a sculpture for your home, a gift or a memorial. I sell needle felted figures, mainly dogs. I got into needle felting through seeing an online video and thought I might give it a go! I particularly enjoy felting sighthound breeds, but I really love doing commissions of much loved pets and experimenting with more unusual

breeds. I am the proud owner of a lively whippet called Jenson, hence the name 'WoollenWhippet'! About needle felting:

Needle felting is something artists have been doing for years, yet many of us had never heard of it. It all starts with a piece of carded, un-spun wool, that resembles candy floss, plus a felting needle to do the felting! The wool is poked and stabbed with the felting needle (a special type of shaped needle with barbs on the edge of it), which causes the wool fibres to interlock together and attach themselves to each other. This eventually has the effect of the wool firming up and creating a dense mass. Using this technique, you can literally create any 3D shape you like, with no need for any sewing or stitching! I set up WW&Co because I wanted to sell my creations to people who, like me, have a love for dogs and cats and an admiration for their beauty. Nearly everyone has a favourite dog/cat breed or type, and I am always willing to develop my skills and give any breed a try, they are all beautiful in their own way! I sell my figures at very competitive and affordable prices, ranging from £20-£65, depending on the amount of hours that go into the creation of each felted furry! My sculptures can be given as gifts, or created in memorial of a loved pet, or maybe even as a treat to yourself to display in your home! Another weekend spent felting and this little whippet is complete 😍 I'm beginning to get booked up with orders ('tis the season!) so please send me a message if you're interested in having a commission done in time for Christmas. Full dog sculptures such as this one are £65 plus postage and I'm willing to try any breed or crossbreed!

Apologies for not posting anything on here in a while - I've been so busy with uni. After a break for a month or so I am just starting back up with my felting again. Here's Badger, a terrier I completed a few months back. The end photos were kindly sent to me on receipt of mini Badger - it's always lovely to see my creations next to the real thing!

After a 3 month break due to exams I can finally get back to felting again! Here's 'Harvey', my latest woollen Whippet. I hope to continue felting during my third year at uni so hopefully you will be seeing more regular posts from me now. Have got lots more whippets lined up as custom orders, along with galgos, a Shih Tzu and a Lakeland Terrier so watch this space!
