Fire up your day with the warmth of Ginger and Turmeric, combined with Beetroot, Goji Berries, and cooling Mint. Vibrant and exotic - this one really comes with a kick!
The Smoothie Spice contains:
π 1 Organic Granny Smith Apple
π₯ 1 Organic Carrot
β¨ 1 Organic Beetroot
π§‘ 1 Portion of Organic Ginger
β¨ A handful of Organic Goji Berries
β¨10 Organic Mint Leaves
β¨1/4 Tsp Organic Turmeric
β¨ A handful of Brazil Nuts
β¨ Pinch of Organic Pink Himalayan Salt

π Today is World Mental Health Day! π
Life has been different for a while now so it's only natural that many of us are struggling with our mental health in one way or another.
With that in mind, we wanted to share some quick, easy, and overall FUN ways to give your mental health a little boost:
π Journal - it's an amazing way to organise your life and work out what's important to you. Write down what you're grateful for, make a to-do list or keep a diary - writing it down on paper may give you a new perspective.
βοΈ Vision board - creating a vision board can help to focus your thoughts and give you a refreshed perspective. Take some time to think about what you want from your life, find some images which represent these visions and then place them all together on your board. Pop the vision board somewhere you'll regularly see it and every time you spot it visualise these great things becoming true in your future.
ποΈ Colouring in - this is an amazing way to totally relax your mind. Instead of focussing on any worries or anxieties, your attention will be taken up by the colouring in - giving your brain a well-deserved break.
π Nature - we say this all the time but there's no better thing for your mental health than spending some time outdoors. Halloween and Bonfire night are quickly approaching which gives us two fun opportunities to spend some time with nature.
π€£ Laugh - chances to truly laugh might have been few and far between recently but it's super important for boosting your mental health. If nothing particularly funny is happening during your day-to-day life at the moment, watch your favourite comedy film instead.
ππ½ Dance - or skip, walk, swim, or any gentle movement. Not only is this great for your physical body, but it will also help you to literally shake out any negative emotions. Emotions can become trapped in the body (especially if we're consciously trying to ignore them) so movement is a great way to help release them.

We appreciate that today you'll be celebrating coffee and probably not thinking too much about smoothies but, from tomorrow, instead of drinking a coffee every time you need an energy boost, why not turn to Wake Me Up occasionally? π€©

Itβs nearing the end of the summer months βοΈ but what better way to maintain the sunshine than one of our favourite summery and exotic smoothies - The South American One!
Pineapple, Blueberry, Avocado and Broccoli combine in this taste sensation to give you powerful health benefits and great flavour at the same time. It contains:
π 1/2 Cup of Pineapple
π₯¦ 1 and 1/2 Florets of Broccoli
π₯ 1/4 Cucumber
π 2/5 Cup of Blueberries
π₯ 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
β¨ 2 Tsp Maqui Berry
β¨ 1 Tsp Camu Powder
You then need to add 270ml of a liquid of your choice and blend until thick and smooth π

β¨ Macqui Berry - has up to three times the antioxidants of blueberries and it is a rich and particularly bioavailable source of anthocyanins which help combat cell damage and inflammation.

Guidelines vary depending upon where you look but the average adult should have around 0.8g of protein per kilo of body weight everyday. In pounds, that's about 0.4g of protein per pound.
In reality, many adults consume no where near this! π€·π»ββοΈ
Protein is key for structural and functional elements within every cell of the human body and is used in many metabolic processes too. All cells and tissues contain protein, that's why it's so important for the maintenance of good health.
One really easy way to boost your protein intake each day is to add it to your smoothies, here's a few of our favourite ways:
β¨ yoghurts, especially greek and plain yoghurts
β¨ tofu, it's great for creating a thick and creamy smoothie too
β¨ oats contain up to 11g of protein per cup and also help to create a filling smoothie
β¨ nuts (including cashews, almonds and walnuts) and seeds (including flax, h**p, pumpkin and sunflower). You can also add nut and seed butters to smoothies if you don't have the nuts and seeds themselves
β¨ kefir is a lot like yoghurt but instead is a fermented milk based drink. It contains up to 8 grams of protein per cup and stirring it into your smoothies is a great way to add it to your diet
β¨ cacao nibs are low in sugar compared to other sources of chocolate. Theyβre also a good source of protein as well as other nutrients like iron and magnesium
Of course, you can always just opt for a protein powder however we here at Honestly Good love to get our nutrients from the foods themselves where possible π₯°
