I love doing restyles! This lovely lady wanted a bit of length off to make her hair easier to style and encourage the natural movement in her hair. I took a couple of inches off the length and added some long layers☺️

I appreciate some of my youngest clients don’t like having their hair cut. When you put yourself in their position it’s quite easy to understand - a strange lady comes to your house, asks you to wear a funny cape, gets your hair wet and then makes you itchy! This is why I’m so flexible about cutting children’s hair. If they don’t want a cape, that’s fine (but they may itch more!), if they don’t want to sit still (although it makes things a lot more tricky) it’s also fine, if they want to spray their own hair to make it wet it’s fine by me (if it’s okay with parents/carers)!

I have done many hair cuts sat on the floor while playing with cars, in the garden in summer months, getting sprayed while the child sprays their own hair, taking frequent breaks to prevent stress, and cutting hair while some babies/toddler have been breastfed. None of this phases me. I’d rather put all of these things in place so children associate hair cuts with good things, rather than it being a stressful situation for everyone involved!

Children will also be offered a chocolate coin or a small bag of sweets at the end of the hair cut (if parents say it’s okay, don’t worry I will ask discretely so you aren’t pressured!). If there are dietary needs please let me know before the appointment and I will try my best to accommodate this. Also, please tell me if your child is likely to really dislike me cutting their hair. This isn’t an issue, it just gives me a chance to allow more time to be booked out for the appointment to accommodate this and make sure everyone’s as happy as possible☺️

I thought loyalty cards would be a good way to show you all how much I appreciate you! Simply keep your loyalty card safe and I will sign/date it at every appointment you have. For every full loyalty card you will get a free hair cut! 💇🏼‍♀️ 💇🏼‍♂️

Here’s the post that most of you were waiting for, my price list!

I will always keep prices as low and competitive as I can. I hate taking money from people, which may make me the world’s worst business woman🤦🏼‍♀️ There may be occasions (like if you’re blessed with super thick hair, or if you’re having a fashion colour that requires multiple tubes of tint) where I quote more than the price list but this will be made very clear at the consultation or in a message following the consultation once I’ve priced things up.

📝 QUALIFICATIONS📝

Some people may find the discussion around qualifications a bit boring, but I feel like it’s important to address so that my clients can feel relaxed in the knowledge that I do actually know what I’m doing. That’s a good start, right?😂 I hold qualifications in;

📝 The equivalent to a Level one in hairdressing (that I got at school).
📝 Level 2 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing
📝Level 3 Technical Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing
📝Level 2 Certificate in Barbering
📝Level 2 Diploma in Barbering
📝Level 2 Certificate in Bridal Hair

I also hold an advanced DBS and relevant insurance, so you can feel 100% safe while having your hair done by me☺️ In the future, depending on the need for services, I’d love to do some more courses to update my knowledge on new colouring techniques and potentially expand to be able to offer extensions. I shall keep you all updated on that though!

Hello you lovely people!

This seems a little bit scary starting all of this on social media again! It’s going to take me a while to build up a page again, get content uploaded and make this space a nice, friendly and informative place to view all about my little business, but if you’ve chosen to ‘like’ me, I am so pleased you’re here.

I had a long think about how to restart this journey, and I decided that a new name, new logo and new colour scheme was the best way to go forward. I wanted to base the rebranding around my little boy as he is the main motivation for this, so i decided on ‘Moon&Hair’ as he always says ‘I love you to the moon and back’ and it’s much less of a mouthful than ‘Alixandra mobile hairdressing’ that it was previously known as! Feel free to look at some old posts on there and the kind of thing I used to get up to.

Due to Covid followed by a pregnancy, a complex birth and a very active baby, my previous clientele had to be dwindled down to almost nothing, alongside working another job too. I’ve had a little client base who has stuck by me (you know who you are and I am SO grateful!) that kept my creative brain ticking. So although things definitely quietened down around starting my little family, I haven’t ever completely stopped hairdressing. Now my little one is 3, it’s time to get my hairdressing business back up on it’s feet!

I can’t wait to be back making you all feel amazing, in a chilled environment with a lot of chatting again! Please bare with me while I rebuild the social media side of things. Thank you so much for reading my ramble,
