Hi, I'm Jo. Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you for visiting my website and reading my blog. I have been wanting to write for a long time as makeup is a major passion/obsession of mine however I have only just found the confidence to do it so thank you for supporting me. I have not always worn makeup and most of my school years were spent makeup (and sadly eyebrow) free. After leaving
school my confidence and thankfully my eyebrows started to grow and I began experimenting with makeup, by the time I was 18 it had become a fully fledged obsession. Despite my lack of confidence I have always tried to push myself, so after being made redundant from an office job in 2008 I gained qualifications in Beauty therapy and Fashion and Photographic makeup. However, despite doing makeup for a couple of brides my lack of conviction in my own skills held me back from taking my career further. In 2012 something very tragic happened that made me realise that life is to short to sit around and wait for it to happen, so without hesitation I applied for a job at my current airline. I was determined and told myself that if I didn't get the job through being myself then it wasn't the job for me. Thankfully they didn't keep me in suspense for too long and the next day I received an email saying I was successful and I have never looked back. I would say for anyone thinking of pursuing this career you shouldn't wait and just go for it as its the best job you could ever do. The 6 weeks training course prior to stepping on a plane pushed me to the max, I learned a lot about myself and made some lifelong friends in the process. I'm very lucky that I have made a career out of travelling the world and all the new experiences have allowed my confidence to soar. Don't get me wrong I still have my moments of self doubt however I have learned to quickly bounce back and remember that no one is perfect, we are all unique and lucky to be alive. With the round the world trips also comes the shopping and a whole new world of things opened up to me, stores like Sephora and MAC became my new makeup playgrounds. I love to talk about makeup and love finding new treasures on my travels, I usually get asked about what makeup I'm wearing so I find myself recommending products all the time. This is where International Makeup Ju**ie was born, so I can share my views with the world. Makeup is my obsession, I have my own style that might not be everyones cup of tea but I particularly love a glittery smokey eye (my wedding day eye of choice), full coverage foundation and a pink lip. I really hope you enjoy reading and if you have any recommendations please get in touch, I'm always searching for a perfect n**e lip :) ###xx
