Hi Ladies
I have been asked by a few of you what the differences are between Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) that I offer and Microblading and I hope that within this post, I provide you with most of the answers.
How colour/pigment is implanted:
• Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) is carried out using a digital machine and is the more precise method of depositing pigment.
•Microblading is carried out using a hand held manual blade.
The depth to which the colour/pigment is implanted:
• With Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) the pigment is implanted into the skin, up to a depth of 2mm.
• With Microblading the pigment is implanted into the skin, up to a depth of 0.5mm.
How long does each procedure last before a re-touch procedure is required:
• Semi Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) lasts on average 12-18 months.
• Microblading lasts on average 6-9 months.
Healing time for each Procedure:
• With Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) on average of 7 days.
•With Microblading on average 5-7 days.
Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) can achieve deeper pe*******on into the dermis (skin) without causing trauma to the area or undue discomfort to the client.
Taking into account:
1) the cost of the training, which is on average 10 times more than Microblading training,
2) the cost of the digital machine which is on average 55 times, more than the manual hand held blade used in Microblading,
3) the cost of the specialist one use sterile medical grade needles,
4) the appointment time for each procedure of 2 hours, and
5) the results of the procedure lasting on average 6-12 months longer than Microblading i.e twice as long,
it becomes evident that Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) is the most economical procedure of the two as results last twice as long.
In a bid to safe guard the public, every technician offering Semi-Permanent Make-Up (Micropigmentation) and Microblading procedures, by law in the UK, are required to be licensed as well as fully trained. Due to the requirement of a highly sterile environment this procedure should only take place in a fully licensed treatment room. If you are in any doubt please always ask to see a copy of the technician's training certificate, license (obtained from their local council) together with their up to date insurance.
