A little life update 💞🍒

Firstly, I just want to apologise for being a little quiet lately and for any delays in replying to messages and DMs.

I’m still here, still working behind the scenes, but if I’m being completely honest, I’ve been feeling pretty burnt out. The last few months have been incredibly tough as my beautiful mum has navigated a breast cancer diagnosis. She has now finished her treatment, and while there’s still a journey ahead, it finally feels like we can start to breathe again and move forward from what has been a very difficult time.

Alongside this, Tessa has had lots of appointments which have sometimes meant last-minute changes and cancellations. Mix that with melatonin not working and a child that is awake all night = recipe for a burnt out mom/worker!! I know this hasn’t always been ideal, but every single one of you has been so understanding, patient and accommodating, and I honestly can’t thank you enough.

Your support means the world to me. Being able to do a job that I love, with clients who show me so much kindness, is something I will never take for granted.

To my colleagues at SCBU - keep doing what you’re doing and smashing every single shift with the care and compassion you always do. Our neonates are so lucky to have you all caring for them in their earliest most vulnerable days - I miss being a part of their journey!! Sacrificing my nursing career was one of the hardest decisions of my life but I know it was for the right reason! I will be back one day 💙
