ππ± HEADS UP GENTLEMEN β WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON SESSION π±π
What another fantastic afternoon at Pendlebury Social Club, Swinton! ππ
Today's session was filled with everything that makes Heads Up Gentlemen so specialβfriendship, laughter, support, and meaningful conversations. π€π¬
We started with our weekly check-in, giving every man the opportunity to speak openly, listen, and support one another. These moments remind us that no one has to face life's challenges alone. π
Afterwards, the competitive spirit came alive with a brilliant pool competition! π± There was plenty of laughter, friendly banter, and great competition, making for another memorable afternoon.
We also want to give a very special Happy Birthday to Pru! ππ₯³π
Pru, who runs Pru's Charity Events, was with us today hosting the fantastic Community Bingo, bringing people together and creating a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you for everything you do for our community and for the continued support you show Heads Up Gentlemen. Your kindness, dedication, and generosity never go unnoticed, and we're proud to work alongside you.
From everyone at Heads Up Gentlemen, we wish you the happiest of birthdays and hope you have an amazing year ahead! πππ
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. Together, we're building stronger communities, supporting better mental health, and proving that a simple conversation can change a life.

π¬ AN EVENING TO REMEMBER π¬
Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending a private screening of the powerful short film Before You Go at the beautiful Hope Street Hotel, Liverpool.
I was honoured to be invited by the incredible team behind the film and to meet the talented people who brought this important story to life β Writer & Director Matt Kennard, Producer and Actress Laura Aikman, BAFTA-nominated lead actor Sonny Walker, and Editor Joan Gill Amorim. What an outstanding team.
Before You Go tells the story of a young man visiting a loved one in hospital to say a final goodbye. It's a deeply moving film that explores mental health, su***de, grief, forgiveness, and the importance of human connection. Without giving too much away, I can honestly say this is one of the most impactful short films I've ever watched. Every member of the cast and crew should be incredibly proud of what they've created. ππ
The evening also included a brilliant Q&A session where I had the privilege of speaking with Debbie Rogers, Founder and CEO of Sean's Place. Debbie shared her inspiring journey, her wealth of knowledge, and the incredible work Sean's Place continues to do in supporting men's mental health across the Liverpool City Region. It was a genuine pleasure to meet her, and I'm looking forward to keeping in touch and exploring how we can work together to create even more positive change.
As Founder of Heads Up Gentlemen, evenings like this remind me why collaboration is so important. We're incredibly excited to be working alongside Matt, Laura, Sonny, and the team on something very special for Men's Mental Health Awareness Month this November. π€
We can't reveal too much just yet... but trust me, it's something we're hugely passionate about, and we can't wait to share more with you very soon. π
A huge thank you to everyone involved for such a warm welcome, and to Hope Street Hotel for hosting such a fantastic evening in a beautiful venue.
Together, we're continuing to break the stigma, start conversations, and remind men everywhere that they never have to face life's battles alone. π

π HEADS UP GENTLEMEN | WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON SESSION π
π Pendlebury Social Club
π Wednesday | 12:00 PM β 2:00 PM
Every week, we create a space where men can come together, take the weight off their shoulders, and know they're not facing life's challenges alone.
Our afternoon will begin with our check-in, one of the most important parts of what we do. It's an opportunity for every man to speak openly, share how they're really feeling, celebrate the positives, or simply listen if that's what they need. Sometimes, just knowing someone is there to listen can make all the difference.
At Heads Up Gentlemen, we believe that looking after your mental health starts with connection. By building friendships, supporting one another, and creating a judgement-free environment, we're helping men improve not only their mental wellbeing but also their confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, loneliness, bereavement, depression, or simply looking to meet like-minded people, you'll always receive a warm welcome. You don't need a referral, and you don't need to have all the answersβyou just need to take that first step through the door.
π A safe space.
π€ Real conversations.
π¬ Genuine support.
π Strong friendships.
π Better mental health, together.
Come along, grab a brew, meet some great lads, and rememberβyou never have to walk this journey alone.

π₯β½οΈ WHAT A NIGHT AT HEADS UP GENTLEMEN! β½οΈπ₯
What an incredible evening at our Heads Up Gentlemen Quarter-Finals! ππ€
We kicked the night off with one of our powerful check-in sessions, where the lads opened up, listened, encouraged one another, and reminded each other that no man has to face life's challenges alone. π¬π€ Sometimes, just being heard can make all the difference, and once again the support, honesty, and brotherhood in the room were truly inspiring. β€οΈπͺ
Then it was time to hit the pitch for our walking football quarter-final! β½οΈπ₯ Despite the scorching weather βοΈπ₯΅, the energy never dropped. There was plenty of laughter π, friendly competition π, brilliant teamwork π, and a few moments of "VAR-worthy" controversy! π
The smiles said it all, and every single person gave it their all.
Of course, no football night would be complete without half-time pizza! ππ€© The lads tucked in, recharged, shared plenty more laughs, and got themselves ready for the second half.
Nights like these are about so much more than football. They're about friendship, connection, laughter, mental wellbeing, and creating a safe place where men can be themselves. π Together we're proving that talking, supporting each other, and having fun can change lives.
A massive thank you to every single person who came along and made the evening so special. We can't wait for the semi-finals! πβ½οΈ
