So what’s the story behind Mina Darkweather Candles?

Mina Darkweather is my pseudonym and I set this up with good reason - using positivity to help others.

I transfer my positive energy to each candle - they work amazingly for me now I’m recovering from major trauma which left me suicidal in May this year.

In May 2024 I was subject to a horrendous transphobic online attack on X, (formerly known as Twitter), over 900 anonymous gender critical people targeted me with horrendous abuse.

How did I cope?

I didn’t - after the initial shock I started to make active plans to end my life.

Thankfully I got support from my GP, and, although I still had these thoughts for a long time, I’m SO thankful that I didn’t act on them.

I reported this as a hate crime.

The day after I reported, I got support and spoke with someone.

The result was wonderfully supportive.

I got advice and received links for other support groups and telephone numbers.

I worked with a counsellor to determine a crisis plan.

I was referred for talking therapy which I have face to face every week - there are options to do this online also via video call.

Don’t EVER feel you need to do this alone, or that you deserve it - we all matter!

I consider myself lucky to be alive today, and I’m stronger and more positive than ever before.

And I want to share this positivity with others through my candles, crafted with a selected blend of herbs, salts and fragrances.

I’ve had some wonderful feedback from people who’ve used these candles, and long may that continue. x

This sieve is over forty years old and was kindly given to me by my mum.

I have fond memories of using it as a kid to do baking.

Now I use it for my candle making to remove any residue, thus ensuring a clean burn.
