I see that this week the RSPCA Assured Scheme has finally removed the recipe section from its own website. After all, how can you possibly claim to protect or care for animals when you promote ways to cook and eat them!? I took this screenshot some months ago of a recipe for calves that are born into hay, only then to be 'cooked in hay' - it shows the massive disconnect of this self proclaimed 'ethical' animal welfare charity...ππ’
I also see 'Animal Rising' has very recently uploaded a video to YouTube exposing examples of RSPCA Assured farms. Why not take a look at this video and see what the gold-standard of UK animal/fish farming looks like - see where your money goes when you donate and ultimately what you are actually supporting etc.
As a nation of 'animal lovers' I do believe that we will look back in horror at what used to do to sentient, innocent and voiceless animals - perhaps not tomorrow, perhaps not even in my lifetime, but as awareness grows it will surely happenπ€

Dreadful animal cruelty aside: Alongside smoking, asbestos and plutonium, 'Processed Meat' is defined as a Class.1 carcinogenic by the World Health Organisation.
I wonder when governments will put restrictions and warnings on the these products - just like they now do on ci******es!?
History shows just how long governments took to act on the dangers of smoking. It took 6,000 studies proving that there was a link between cancer and smoking before the USA government took any action. Pretty shocking really and especially given the massive and rising current healthcare costs!!π₯΄

Watching Blue Planet II: Absolutely stunning images of another world, so incredible that at times it makes my hair stand on end....
I so wish that Sir David Attenborough could translate his apparent love of nature into a meaningful action and message but the all important punchline never comes. Is it enough to pull 3 TRILLION fish out of the sea every single year and say 'the future depends on us' whilst governments give yet more Β£$β¬BILLIONS to support the fishing industries and he happily sits down at a luxury seafood restaurant....
Good on the people who protest and for pointing out the obvious and glaring hypocrisy!! π π€

COP27 (as always) continues to focus on reducing 'fossil fuel' use and supporting renewable energy and that's great BUT there is a massive 'Elephant in the room' that politicians/goverments ALWAYS fail to mention...
Debatable to some extent, but it is estimated that about 37% of ALL greenhouse gases are produced by animal agriculture - which is more than ALL forms of transport COMBINED!
Of course for many it's a very touchy (even vote losing!!) subject and especially difficult to address when the very same goverments give BILLIONS of taxpayers money in subsidies to support animal farming, dairy and fishing. No wonder the politicians want YOU to focus on them taxing YOU for your for your cars petrol instead.
We pull TRILLIONS of fish out of our sea every single year and yet we fully recognise the damage that we are doing with these giant fishing nets and yet governments continue to give hundreds of millions to the fishing industry to 'help modernise their fleets' and to pressumably pull even more fish out of the very same sea!π
Ignore dreadful animal suffering and cruelty (if you must!) but read about the growing problems of avian flu, viruses and now 'antibiotic resistance'. Up to 80% of all antibiotics produced are given to the animals that we eat. Used to reduce infections/disease because of the dreadful 'factory style' overcrowding of the BILLIONS of pigs and chickens that we kill every year - they are also knowingly used simply to increase the animals growth rate/weight/Β£value.
So yes (me included!!!), we can all use our cars less, turn down our heating, recycle and use less plastic etc. BUT the food we put on our plates could potentially make a bigger difference than everything we are being told. Bear in mind that 40% of the food grown is used simply to feed the animals that we eat and that cannot be an efficient food system, especially factoring in future population growth.
All current health advise in 'the west' tells us to reduce meat consumption (especially processed/carcinogenic meats) and to eat more fruit and vegetables (and yes avoid some of the 'vegan-crap' too!) - for many good reasons including sustainability a far more 'Plant Based' diet is going to be 'our' future I very much hopeππ€

Channel 4 news last night: I am grateful and encouraged that they are educating people to the reasons that the Amazon rainforest is being torn down. The vast majority of deforestation is for cattle farming with the main markets being China and Europe. Incredible that the farmers think we need their meat or we could starve!!ππ₯΄
