STORY TIME.....
TITLE ;
*GOD HAS NOT SAID THAT ABOUT YOU *
Once upon a time, in a small village nestled between two great mountains, there lived a young woman named Amara. She had grown up hearing the whispers of doubt and shame from the villagers, who believed she was unworthy due to her humble beginnings.
"You're just a poor orphan," they'd say. "You'll never amount to anything."
Amara internalized these words, and soon, she began to doubt her own worth. She felt like she was living in the shadows, invisible and insignificant.
One day, while wandering through the forest, Amara stumbled upon a wise old man sitting by a river. He introduced himself as Elijah, a messenger of God.
"Elijah, I feel so lost and unworthy," Amara confessed, tears streaming down her face. "The villagers say I'm nothing, and I'm starting to believe it."
Elijah's gentle eyes locked onto hers. "Amara, my child, God has not said that about you."
He took her hand and led her to the river's edge. "Look into the water," he instructed.
As Amara gazed into the crystal-clear water, Elijah continued, "What do you see?"
"I see my reflection," she replied.
"Ah, but do you see the beauty, the strength, and the resilience that God sees?" Elijah asked.
Amara shook her head, and Elijah smiled. "God has not said that about you, Amara. He says you are:
- Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)
- A child of the Most High (Romans 8:14)
- Strong and courageous (Deuteronomy 31:6)
- Loved beyond measure (John 3:16)"
As Elijah spoke, Amara felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She realized that the villagers' words were mere lies, but God's truth was her reality.
From that day forward, Amara walked with a newfound confidence. She knew that God's voice was the only one that mattered, and His words were life-giving.
As she returned to the village, Amara declared to herself and anyone who would listen: "God has not said that about me. He says I am loved, worthy, and enough."
And with that, Amara's story became one of triumph, inspiring others to reject the lies of the world and cling to the truth of God's word.
*Reflection Questions:*
1. What negative self-talk or external criticism have you internalized?
2. How can you replace those lies with God's truth?
*Takeaway:*
You are not defined by the opinions of others or your past. You are defined by God's truth, which declares you worthy, loved, and enough.
Let the beauty of Lord be seen in you.
