Short Reflections and Scriptures
Stories that Strengthen Families.
I will never forget that day.
The sterile white Walls, the cold chair, and than the words that pierced through our hearts.
There's nothing more we can do. Just Prepare yourself, was the words of the doctor.
In that moment, time froze. My husband squeezed my hand so tight, it hurt but it was the only thing keeping me from collapsing. We walked out of the hospital in silence. No words, just tears and on lookers were watching.
That night, we faced a CHOICE
To Hold on to the Doctor's Words....or to hold on to God's TRUTH.
And we knew one thing for sure, He is the SAME GOD. Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
So we Prayed
We invited family and pastors to Stand with us. Together, we stormed HEAVEN'S GATES. Some days were filled with HOPE. Other days, we felt Crushed. But our Prayers never Changed.
Lord, not our WILL, but YOURS. If You heal, we will TESTIFY. If not, we will Still Praise You.
Weeks turned onto months.
And slowly, the report began to change. Doctors looked Puzzled.
"Sometimes is happening "
Wait....this wasn't supposed to happen.
And finally, the words we never expected to hear:
Whatever you are doing, keek doing it. His condition is REVERSING
But it wasn't us. It was GOD.
Today, the one who was written off is alive, laughing, walking, and carrying PURPOSE.
The doctors gave a report.....but God wrote the Story
SO if you are in the Middle of your Storm, remember this
The same God who turned our mourning into dancing is still on DUTY.
PSALM 139:1-2
Oh LORD, YOU are the reason Joan is alive today.
If your mind is garden, what seeds are you SOWING there?
Are they words of kindness, grace and mercy, or weeds of worry and despair?
A lady named Joan once lived by the Hill,
Quiet and thoughtful, but often quite STILL.
She spent her days Tending FLOWERS so bright,
Yet inside her mind, there was barely light.
She 'd let fear take root, and doubt grow tall, While DREAMS and PRAYERS were left to fail. UNTIL one day a CHILD said with GLEE, Aunty, Your SMILE is the PRETTIEST tree!
Joan paused and looked within - What' kind of garden had it been?
She knelt and prayed, LORD, START ANEW,
Plant in me THOUGHTS that are Noble and True. Now her HEART grows HOPE, and her thoughts bloom PEACE, joy rises like SUNFLOWERS 🌻 and WORRY Wil CEASE.
So, when CHRIST is the GARDENER, oh what a change -
Even the wildest Minds HE can REARRANGE.
So ask yourself gently, this afternoon
What grows in your garden mind?
If you have JESUS you have everything.
