3. HOLDING A GRUDGE
Holding grudges makes us bitter and stubborn. God wants us to extend forgiveness to everyone, no matter how bad they’ve hurt us or how wrong they’ve treated us. This doesn’t mean to let those people walk all over us, but more so forgiving them like God constantly and whole-heartedly forgives us!

Nobody’s perfect, but we can try our hardest to avoid these secret sins and be in prayer over them. Pick one that you want to focus on this week, and make a daily choice to practice it

JEALOUSY
You may think that you’re not a jealous person, but jealousy exists outside of relationships! When was the last time you’ve thought “I wish I had her hair, her body, her outfit, etc.”? God loves when we’re content in our own circumstances, not longing for the circumstances of others.

Proverbs 14:30 says, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”

It’s exhausting to constantly desire the things of others. Focus on loving who you are and the things you are blessed with. Thank God for everything he’s given you instead of wanting the things he’s given others!

2. PRIDE
James 4:6 says, “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’”

This is a sin that I see being committed time and time again, and I’m guilty of it, too. When we have certain accomplishments and successes, it’s hard not wanting to tell the world or post about them on social media. God wants us to have a humble heart, boasting of his greatness rather than our own.

1. WORRY/FEAR
Worrisome and anxious thoughts are easy to possess. And although these sometimes creep in out of our control, the Bible talks about it being a hidden sin.

1 Peter 5:6-8 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

When we worry, we allow Satan to have a foothold in our lives. It’s like we’re telling God we don’t trust what he’s doing. Now I’m sure he knows there are times when we can’t control our worrying, but letting it drive our lives is when it becomes displeasing to God. Trust him, and let go and let God!

Today, take your life back by taking your thoughts back. Don’t allow the enemy to have access any longer. Instead, meditate on the Word of God daily and allow His truth to sink down deep into your spirit. Let His truth set you free!

Father, thank You for empowering me to live in victory. I choose to take my life back by taking captive every thought and submitting it to You. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You today and every day in Jesus name. Amen

Sometimes life becomes too complicated and all you need is just to let it flow, because God still controls everything.

Perpetual Backsliding

Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. (Jeremiah 8:5)

Backsliding is reverting to sin or wrongdoing. It is a believer’s downward movement into the sins and evils he had once destroyed upon conversion.

The nation of Israel, taking undue advantage of God's faithfulness to His promise to Abraham, had an unenviable history of backsliding. And each time they did, they would cry unto of God after suffering avoidable hardship. He would forgive them and raise a leader to lead them back to Him in repentance But their repentance, not backed by reverential fear, would not endure.

Jeremiah’s vision was about the impending desolation of the nation. Their fate was now a consequence of the people's rebellion. When a believer falls or realizes he is headed to a wrong direction, wisdom should dictate to him to get up and change direction. But Israel chose to trust the words of false prophets, not minding how God felt.

There is danger when leaders and members in Christian assemblies are close to the level of Israel’s apostasy; when they reject God's word, teach as doctrine the commandments of men, and present rich men as models of righteousness because of financial support. Blasphemous teachings are being dished out from many pulpits today and sound doctrine have been relegated to the background. Yet, God is watching. Backsliders need to repent today before it is too late.

God's long-suffering should lead you to repentance.

Change of Heart

Christ taught you! If you have really heard his voice... then throw off your old evil nature-the old you that was a partner in your evil ways ... Ephesians 4:20-22 (TLB)

Paul before his conversion was not meek. Proudly and brutally, he apprehended all Christians and sought to destroy them. He was bigoted, selfish, and vaunted. But when he wrote his warm and affectionate letter to the churches of Galatia, he said, among other things, “The fruit of the Spirit is ... gentleness, goodness ... meekness.” His meekness was something God-given, not something man-made. It is not our nature to be meek. On the contrary, it is our nature to be proud and haughty. That is why the new birth is so essential to each of us. That is why Jesus frankly and pointedly said not only to Nicodemus but to every one of us, “Ye must be born again.” Meekness begins there! You must have a change of nature.

Heavenly Father, give me the same kind of meekness that You gave to Jesus.

Never to Give Up

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and begin to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that fell on his back, the donkey was doing some thing amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and totted off!

Moral: Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick is too not to get bogged down by it. We can get out of the deepest wells by not stopping. And by never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!
