The first of the two boats has been launched and is now embarking on its sea trials. These vessels are set to be delivered and operational in Norway’s Smøla and Romsdal fjords in early 2024. The Ambulance 2280 is like a floating mini-hospital, featuring an aluminum catamaran hull and two Volvo Penta D13 diesel engines. What sets these new boats apart from their predecessor, the Ambulance 2200, is the use of Kongsberg waterjets instead of IPS propulsion.
