What a difference a week makes. CMON SPRING! 😀

It's a little nasty outside today but luckily it's not freezing cold but just a little bit of that bone chilling rain. But we've got hot chowders and anything that may help warm your day up so stop in and see us! And as always thank you for your continued support! :-)

The weekend's coming and apparently a little more snow also. But we're here and we have everybody's favorites. Stop by for either here or to go or DoorDash will deliver! I don't know about everybody but I'm definitely ready for spring lol! As always I want to thank everybody for their support and look forward to seeing everyone soon.! 😀

This is a great reflection of the hardworking staff. And again thanks to everybody for your patronage and support
On Lafayette Road in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Ray's Seafood & Chowder Shack beckons you like a cheerful roadside stop: red roof, lobster signs by the windows, a hand-painted vibe that tells you exactly what you're here for. Step up to the counter and you'll find a menu packed with the real stuff: whole steamed lobsters served with cups of warm butter, house-made chowder that locals call the best they've had anywhere, fried clam baskets, haddock, lobster rolls hot and cold, and hand-cut fries that show up in almost every review.
The portions are serious. Reviewers routinely mention leaving more satisfied than expected, and the seafood platter is the kind of thing two people can share and still feel full. The staff is warm and unhurried, the space is cozy with a mix of picnic tables and padded benches, and the whole place has that classic New England fish shack energy — just a little more polished than the name implies.
Don't miss the "fluffy chowder" — it's the menu item locals keep coming back for, and it's earned a loyal following from regulars and first-timers alike.
It's part classic New England seafood shack, part Portsmouth hidden gem, and one of the most satisfying stops on the Seacoast when you're craving lobster, chowder, and the real deal.
Which would you order first — the lobster roll or the fluffy chowder? Or both?🦞
