Chronic illness doesn’t always look the way people expect it to.

For years I think we’ve been taught to measure illness by what we can see. But some of the hardest parts of living with chronic illness are the parts nobody else can see.

Visibility isn’t the same as severity.

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood because you “look well”, you’re not alone. 🤍

People don’t always realise how much they protect you
sometimes by holding parts of themselves back.
But I still want to hear it.

Part 11: 11 years 11 lessons

The final lesson: I’m still not in charge of my illness. But I’m more in charge of me.

For anyone having one of those days where your chronic illness floors you.
You don’t have to solve anything today. You just have to get through this moment.

Save this for when you need it.

Part 10: 11 years, 11 lessons

Today, as Migraine Awareness Month comes to an end, I’m sharing a part of my story I’ve barely spoken about before: living with hemicrania continua.

It’s a condition many people have never heard of, but for those of us living with it, awareness matters. 💜

Part 9: 11 years, 11 lessons
I had periods where things improved and where I could do more, but I still found myself grieving.
Not because I wasn’t grateful. But because improvement doesn’t give you your old life back, it just shows you more clearly what’s still missing.

Your brain doesn’t just listen to your thoughts. It learns what to look for.

That’s why the questions we repeatedly ask ourselves matter.

What’s the question your anxiety asks you most often?

Every yes costs something when you live with chronic illness. And the price is never as predictable as people think.

A shower can tell you a lot about someone’s health.
Some people feel refreshed afterwards.
Some people need a nap.

If you’ve ever had to recover after a shower, this is for you.
You’re not lazy. You’re living in a body that requires more from you than most people realise.

So which type are you?
