From the days of the prophets to the kibbutz fields, from the rescue missions of the IDF to every Israeli mother praying for a soldier who isn’t her own - this value defines who we are. It is not a slogan. It is our moral DNA — the belief that another’s life is your own, that one captive soul represents the entire nation.

In Israel, this isn’t just a virtue - it is our identity.
It’s what unites the people of Israel in times of war and crisis, what makes millions hold their breath for the fate of a single child or soldier.

But this moral compass carries a crushing cost.
Time and again, Israel pays an unimaginable military, diplomatic, and image price - one unparalleled in human history.
While other nations abandon their wounded, conceal their dead, or negotiate with cold calculation, Israel risks everything to bring every single one of its people home.

The world, cynical and often cruel, fails to comprehend this. Some even exploit it, mocking what they mistake for weakness.
But in truth, it is our greatest strength.

Israel lives not by the sword alone - but by the heart.
And that heart, pulsing with boundless solidarity and compassion, is what has kept our people alive through every exile, every siege, every fire.

So yes - we pay the price.
