Holi is a blast, but the combination of synthetic colors, sun exposure, and constant scrubbing can turn your skin and hair into a literal dry mess.
​Here is your quick "pre-and-post" battle plan to stay glowing while getting messy.
​Pre-Holi: The Shield
​The goal here is to create a physical barrier so the colors don't stain your actual cells.

​For Skin:
​Lather up: Apply a thick layer of coconut oil, almond oil, or a heavy-duty moisturizer all over your body.
​Sunscreen is non-negotiable: Use a water-resistant sunscreen with at least SPF 30. The sun and colors together cause "phototoxicity," which leads to nasty rashes.
​Don't forget the bits: Apply petroleum jelly (Vaseline) behind your ears, on your lips, and under your nails.

​For Hair:
​Oil it deeply: Massage your scalp and hair with warm coconut or olive oil. It prevents the color from penetrating the hair shaft.
​Tie it up: Keep your hair in a tight bun or a braid. Leaving it loose is an invitation for knots and chemical damage.
