The cold dry air steals the moisture away from the skin leaving it dead and dry. Dry skin occurs when the top layer of skin lacks the required amount of hydration which is needed. This layer starts to break down and develops a visible crack and fine line or a flaky texture.

Here are some tips which need to be taken care off to treat the skin

Acne: Dry skin is a potential trigger of acne along with excess oil production. One reason being less showers due to cold weather… use non- comedogenic moisturizers for face.

Eczema: This makes the skin dry, itchy and irritated. Eczema mostly occurs on the face, hands, elbows and knees. It is important not to keep it wet for long… use special moisturizers improving skin barrier .

Psoriasis: This can be counted as an autoimmune condition as it is caused when the body gets alerted sensing an external stimulus and may flare up in winters so moisturise well and use combination urea creams for exfoliation.

Rosacea: this causes redness and small red bumps on the face. Key symptoms include Facial flushing, blushing, skin redness, skin burning, thickening of the facial tissue around the nose … moisturise and use antibiotic cream. Can even laser to reduce rosacea.

Cold Urticaria: is an allergic reaction to the cold. Temporary hives on the exposed area, swelling of hands when touching cold objects, and swelling of lips when consuming cold foods/drinks.
Temperature control is the key
Normal water baths and must avoid cold beverages too.

Nowadays we have newer and more advanced technology so the treatment of tattoos with a laser has become more effective with minimal side effects and a very low risk of scarring. However, this can vary depending on the situation. The tattoo removal process involves the treatment with a high-intensity laser light beam. It works effectively in removing tattoos by specifically targeting tattoo pigment (without targeting normal skin) and breaking up the pigment colours into smaller fragments that are then cleared away by your own immune system. The result is a fading of the tattoo over a course of several treatments.

When you get a tattoo, ink is placed deeply in the skin. Rubbing cream on top can not remove a tattoo. If this method worked there would be no need for lasers.
Be careful wrong creams with harmful ingredients can damage the skin texture as well.

For minimal scarring and near flawless tattoo removal you may schedule a consultation for laser tattoo removal

1. Photosensitivity - Tattooed skin may become extremely sensitive to sun exposure. You may get redness or rashes in the tattooed area whenever you step out in the sun uncovered.

2. Allergy to tattoo ink - You may develop an allergy to any of the coloured inks. However, red ink is mostly associated with tattoo reactions.

3. Predisposed to skin conditions - Some people develop skin conditions within days of getting inked, while for others it shows up after several years.

4. Infections - If the tattooing equipment is contaminated or the water used for diluting tattoo inks is not sterilised properly, it can lead to the entry of germs while the artwork is done.

5. Reaction to MRI - The MRI machine sends out radio frequency waves that are attracted by the metallic pigments in your tattoo. These can generate heat and result in a burn in the tattoo area.
