Rising early before the intense heat and summer tourists, the city is herself again.
Find your beauty when and where you can. It elevates the spirit, changes the neurological pathways in the brain and brings a great state of calm to our nervous systems. Above all, it puts a smile on our hearts.

The platform of the great churches of Florence still provides the best sound system for ancient music to be heard and to be deeply inspired.
Cherubic sounds of the human choir are being revived by the .generation.foundation accompanied by Renaissance styled instrumentalists of Vox Medicea. At Basilica Santo Spirito , the choral tradition is being revived which is the greatest of gifts to the city of Florence and to the youth who want to share their vocal creativity.
Lady Ripple applauds this wonderful initiative of the Florence Choral Course that brings together dozens of young voices from all over the world to train at the premises and the New Generation Festivals Sacred Music Programme.
In a world of artificial creation, nothing can replace the soulful intelligence of the performing arts. To be able to find artistic expression within the next generations makes virtues like hope, beauty and curiosity expand within us. It is this sector of humanity that fires the imagination and is endlessly alive.
Thanks to the sponsorship and efforts of such organisations such as , and , collaborative ripples are occurring that support authentic creativity.

A different face of Florence. Youth taking to the streets for the WISH Street Parade. Reclaiming their streets from the throngs of over-tourism.
Dance and music as a protest — great way to express yourself. The tide can turn when we come together to make ripples.
Florence was alive with festivity honouring its patron saint San Giovanni at this annual event on the 24th of June.
Lady Ripple loves this sort of community ripple and ritual and was delighted to celebrate at the historic Cannottieri Rowing Club on the Arno. It was an evening of community for Florentine citizens, boat races between the ‘quartieri’ (neighbourhoods) of Florence, a feast for 420 diners and a front row seat for the stunning firework show to end the night.
Summer is in full swing!
Tomorrow, Florence celebrates its feast day of San Giovanni, the birthdate of its patron saint. The city will bask in the light of the fireworks and in the fanfare of the day’s rituals that surely have woven their magic into its residents’ hearts.
Lady Ripple prepared her own recipe to create L’acqua di San Giovanni (waters of St. John) comprised of the petals of different flowers found during the Summer Solstice and herbal leaves infused outdoors in water overnight and then used as a body freshener on this hot summer’s day.
The original recipe calls for herbs and flowers of the season: sage, thyme, rosemary mint, lavender and rose petals — known for their healing properties of well being that perhaps might even bring some love and good fortune into the mix as the tradition goes.
What would life be without its customs, rituals, traditions and fanfare? It builds a community spirit.

Recently opened at the Serre Torrigiani in Firenze, artist Mateo Revillo has his solo installation on display this week entitled Umor. Set between the lush plants of the greenhouse, his paintings, fountains, and sculptures are intimate reflections where art and nature come alive, using natural beeswax in many of his works. The curation of his works fosters curiosity for the natural world, and his colours and forms blend seamlessly into the verdant architecture.
Under the curation and residency provided by the support of the always inspiring , Mateo creates an installation where the human is witness to something real, organic and living and where all participants become part of nature’s journey.
This show will move to the Spazio Sassetti Gallery to view throughout June.
