Accetone. Yes or no?
Few months ago I already spoke about acetone, but let me repeat here.
Acetone on the nail acts as degreaser, it removes the natural fatty (protective line) from the surface of the nails.
Yes, it is one of the reasons why after regular use of nail polish and removing it with acetone at home, your nails turn white, peel off, and develop burrs and cracks… Have you ever heard from clients that after the gel system, natural nails stopped cracking and become healthier? That was one of the reason.
But I still see that the gel is often removed with acetone and covered again. What will be the result? And the final result will be a weak nail plate, the master will say that it is not her, and the client will tell how the gel spoiled her nails.
What to do?
With acetone we can remove coating only if client doesn’t want to do gel coating at all.
First main material remove by file 180 grit or with hardware machine till thin line. Then you can work with acetone to remove remaining.
After this removing notice client to not do coating for 3 months. This time will be enough to let natural fatty get back to nail + nails will grow during this period and then she will have healthy natural nails as before.
After removing fully material you can do cleaning, not before.
Then apply oil and cover hands with gloves and towel on top for 10-15 minutes. Let nails absorb oil. This manipulation she have to repeat at home every week. Also don’t forget about cream before bed time.
Acetone in our job is a great helper, but in the same time it’s something what can make a misfortune
