To ensure our children remain in school without interruption, I have today released KSh 1 million in ward bursary funds as part of the KSh 200 million annual county bursary programme launched yesterday by our Governor.

This KSh 1 million is in addition to the KSh 1 million previously released by the County Government, KSh 1.5 million support from Dr. Katoo Ole Metito, KSh 1.5 million from Nevira Company, and the ongoing processing of KSh 2.4 million from Hon. Memusi through the NGCDF bursary programme.

Through these combined efforts, 905 students have so far benefitted from our bursary programme, ensuring that many young people across our ward continue with their education without interruption.

The funds released today form a partial payment for 161 students across secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and universities, further strengthening our commitment that no deserving child is left behind due to financial challenges.

Education remains the greatest investment we can make for the future of our ward.

I sincerely thank our bursary committee chairperson and all committee members for ensuring equity, fairness, and transparency in the distribution of these funds. I also extend my heartfelt appreciation to all our partners and leaders who continue to support this noble cause.

Together, we are building a brighter future through education for every child in our ward.

This day is heavy with memories and deep reflection. It reminds us of a man whose life was defined by service, courage, humility, and unwavering dedication to his people.

Hon. Simon Saitoti was not just a leader by title, but a brother, a mentor, and a voice for the voiceless. His passion for unity, development, and justice continues to inspire us even in his absence.

Though one year has passed, the pain of your departure still lingers, and the gap you left can never truly be filled. Yet, your legacy lives on in the lives you touched, the values you stood for, and the hope you planted in our community.

Today, we do not only mourn you — we honor, celebrate, and remember you. This date will forever remain etched in our hearts as a day to remember a great son of the land.

Rest peacefully with the angels, our dear brother.
Your spirit lives on.
Your legacy endures.
You will never be forgotten.
