Kiambu Health Crisis – Summary

Since May 2025, Kiambu doctors have been on strike over poor working conditions, delayed promotions, salary issues, lack of medical cover, and intimidation by the county. The strike has passed 60 days, with calls to shut down 13 hospitals and interns withdrawing due to unsafe conditions.

The county insists salaries and promotions are up to date and has fired several doctors, including after an 11-month-old boy died at Igegania Hospital.

Healthcare services are collapsing—hospitals lack medicine, patients go hungry, and emergencies are poorly covered.

Residents can help by amplifying the crisis, demanding accountability, supporting health workers’ rights, and organizing community-based health support through movements like . Wainaina wa Jungle is now our last hope for a better county..let's stand tall and defend our pride,and county.
