JA Method By Dr. Jumana Antoun
A program that resolves around you!
- By Dr. Jumana Antoun
This is exactly what we work on in the JA Method (jamethod.com)— not willpower, not restriction, not "just don't eat the chocolate." We build the pause. The moment where you catch the autopilot before it eats for you.
Because once you can ask yourself one honest question in the moment, you don't need more discipline. You just need more awareness.
The JA Method isn't a plan. It's not 21 days, not a meal list, not a countdown to an event. Three things hold it together: knowing your own calories well enough that food stops feeling random. Eating with your mind actually present, not just your plate. And working with the thoughts that sabotage you at 8pm — because those aren't a willpower problem, they're a pattern problem.
If you've done the diet plans, done the yo-yo, and you're ready to become someone new — you're exactly who the JA Method was built for.

The JA Method isn't about weighing every bite.
It's about understanding the energy in food using your hands and simple spoon measurements—so you can estimate portions anywhere.
Not to stop eating. Not to label foods as "good" or "bad."
But to make informed choices with confidence, flexibility, and freedom.
That's the difference between counting calories and understanding them.
Would I recommend an organic lollipop after every run?
No.
Did I have one today?
Yes.
One choice doesn't define your health.
Just like one salad doesn't transform it.
The question isn't:
"Is a lollipop healthy?"
The better question is:
"Is this how I eat most of the time?"
Weight loss isn't built on perfect choices.
It's built on consistent ones.
If 95% of your habits support your health, the occasional lollipop isn't what stands between you and your goals.
Stop judging moments. Start looking at patterns.
People are often surprised when I tell them this:
Weight loss is rarely limited by a lack of exercise.
It's more often limited by a lack of understanding.
Understanding your hunger, habits, triggers, and why you eat when you're not physically hungry.
Exercise is valuable.
I run because it makes me feel free, strong, and alive.
But when I work with patients, I don't start with exercise.
I start by helping them understand the patterns that drive their eating.
Because once you understand the pattern, change becomes much easier.
That's the difference between trying harder and having a method.
One of the most important nutrition skills is learning to look beyond the front of the package.
When you see "high protein," ask: • What is the protein source? • Does it contain all the essential amino acids? • Will it help me meet my protein goals? • Could I get the same nutrition from real food?
This is why 20 g of collagen or gelatin protein is not the same as 20 g of turkey, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy, or soy when your goal is preserving or building muscle.
That doesn't make collagen bad. It simply has a different role and is often used to support connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and joints.
Nutrition isn't about finding the perfect food. It's about making informed choices.
Sometimes the best option isn't the one with the loudest marketing. It's the real food sitting right in front of you.
Weight loss is often not about eating less. It's about finding better solutions that fit your real life.
That's the approach I teach: not a diet plan, but helping you build meals, habits, and decisions that actually work for you.
The scale doesn't tell the whole story.
Maybe your next step isn't another diet.
Maybe it's a different approach.
Some people need structure. Some need trust. Some need freedom.
The hardest part is figuring out what you need.
Which woman did you relate to most?
Not every craving means you are losing control.
Sometimes the brain is tired.
The skill is not to judge the craving.
The skill is to pause and understand it.
Awareness before reaction.

If a long day out quietly fills you with dread, read this before your next one. Because the day doesn't fall apart at the buffet. It falls apart that morning, when you decide to "save room" and show up starving.
This is exactly the kind of moment we work on in the JA Method — my approach to weight loss that isn't about diets or rules. It's built on three things: understanding your eating without restriction, learning to eat with awareness instead of on autopilot, and working through the thoughts and emotions that drive food noise. Real moments, real life — not another meal plan you'll quit by Friday.
Save this before your next event. And send it to the friend who "doesn't eat all day" before a wedding. 🤍
