Coach Edi, I've been married for nine years, and we have two children.
For most of our marriage, I put my career on hold to raise our children while my husband built his business.
Last year, I finally got an opportunity to pursue my dream career.
My husband was excited for me, or so I thought.
Six months ago, I received a promotion that doubled my salary. But the new position requires occasional travel and longer working hours.
That's when everything changed.
My husband started complaining that I wasn't spending enough time with him and the children.
I understood his concerns, so I suggested we hire someone to help at home and adjust our schedules.
But last week, he gave me an ultimatum.
He said:
“You either resign from that job and focus on this family, or I'll find someone who knows how to be a wife.”
I was speechless.
What hurts most is that when he was building his business, I supported him through late nights, missed birthdays, and countless sacrifices.
Now that it's my turn, he says my ambition is destroying our marriage.
Yesterday, our daughter asked me:
“Mommy, why does Daddy say your job is more important than us?”
That broke my heart.
I love my husband, and I don't want my marriage to fail.
But should I give up everything I've worked for to keep my husband happy?
Or is this a sign that my marriage only works when I'm the one making sacrifices?

Marriage should not be the place where romance goes to die. It should be the place where love continues to grow.

God allowed that person to walk out of your life for a reason. Don't me mad, be prayerful.

Who said the sweet messages, random kisses, late-night conversations, playful teasing, and little surprises are only meant for the beginning of a relationship?

Love doesn't have to become boring just because it becomes familiar.

When two people genuinely love each other, they don't stop dating just because they're married.

They don't stop flirting because they have children.

They don't stop showing affection because they've been together for 10, 20, or even 30 years.

Yes, life gets busy. Responsibilities increase. Challenges come. And some seasons will feel less romantic than others.

But here's the difference:

Real love doesn't always keep the butterflies alive. It keeps giving those butterflies a reason to return. ❤️

The honeymoon phase may change, but the intentional love, laughter, friendship, and affection can last a lifetime.

Marriage should not be the place where romance goes to die. It should be the place where love continues to grow.
