Hello happy July,
You’ve got me thinking—about the crosses we bear for love. Is it really worth it?
I’ve come to believe that in this life, we all carry something. But maybe, just maybe, we have the power to choose which cross we bear.
Choose wisely. Not all weight is worth the pain.

The Hidden Cost of Living in a Poorly Governed Society
Today, while scrolling through some old videos on Snapchat, I was hit with a wave of emotions. There were glimpses of laughter, movement, light moments — but beneath them lay an unsettling truth. These memories, though joyful, stand in sharp contrast to my day-to-day reality. And it made me think deeply about the cost of living in a country where poor governance has silently stolen so much from us.
Let’s be honest — bad leadership doesn’t just ruin roads or delay projects. It chips away at your happiness, piece by piece, every single day.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve made it home after a long day and simply refused to go back out. Not because I’m tired — but because the roads are broken, the streets are filthy, there’s nowhere safe or peaceful to unwind. There are no public spaces, no clean parks, no affordable recreational centers where one can just breathe and feel human again. And so we stay locked indoors, confined, stifled.
We don’t even realize how abnormal it is to be constantly under stress just to meet basic needs. Getting nutritious food? It’s a financial burden. Accessing decent healthcare? A gamble. Wanting a fun, safe weekend for your kids? Nearly impossible. Even joy starts to feel expensive — a luxury only a few can afford.
Living in a poorly managed society feels like carrying an invisible weight on your chest every day. There’s no break from it. You’re managing your job, your home, your kids — but also the broken system, the constant uncertainty, the stress of not knowing if the next crisis is right around the corner.
And slowly, it eats away at our emotional well-being. You begin to understand why people seem angry all the time. Why there’s so little patience in the streets. Why everyone’s health is declining — not just from bad food or bad habits, but from the constant cortisol rush our bodies endure in this environment of endless stress and survival.
This isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about how leadership — or the lack of it — directly impacts your sense of peace, your freedom of movement, your right to be happy at no cost, your children’s ability to feel safe and inspired in their own neighborhoods.
It’s heavy. It’s exhausting. And sometimes, it feels like too much to carry.
But naming it is part of healing. Speaking about it is part of resisting. Because we deserve better — not just roads and policies — but joy, ease, safety, and the simple, quiet dignity of living a full life

Funny how life works.
I used to think I could spot the wrong ones from a mile away.
But somehow, I ended up trusting the very people I was trying so hard to avoid.
They come around with sweet words and contagious laughs — manipulating your energy so well that you think you’re in the company of the coolest souls.
But you’re not.
You’re dealing with emotional vampires.
The kind that drain your spirit while pretending to fill your cup.
And the sad part?
You ignore the real ones — the kind souls who would’ve poured into you genuinely — all because you were too busy trying to keep up with people who were only clapping for your downfall.
From professional spaces to personal connections…
I’ve learned the hard way:
Be slow to speak. Be even slower to trust.
People’s true character always shows — with time.
These lessons hurt.
But they’ve taught me how to move differently.
Not colder… just wiser.
Not bitter… just careful.
Because not everyone who smiles with you deserves access to your light.
And funny enough…
Those I ignored, hurt, or pushed away…
They’re getting the last laugh now. Watching life humble me in real-time.
Karma has perfect timing.
Like Dave Chappelle once said:
“Stay humble enough to know that you’re in someone else’s dream too… you may just not realize it yet.”
