Many of us hair stylists wear black. We were taught this in cosmetology training. Here's why:

1) It's professional to wear black in this industry.
2) The attention is on the client, not what you're wearing.
3) It gives a blank backing to your client while you use the mirror. ( More on mirrors in another post)
4) As colorists we get hair color on us a lot, black hides it.
5) When we use lightener it bleaches our clothes, we sometimes have to dye our clothing and black is easiest to do that to.
