Dr. Shin, President of LongHairDoctor, presented a study at the 2023 Symposium of The Korean Laparoscopic Surgeons’ Association of Community Hospitals(KLSACH).

The purpose of the study was to retrospectively collect and analyze the clinical information of patients who underwent acute cholecystitis surgery in the community hospitals. Based on the results, the final goal of the study is to find the best strategy for treating acute cholecystitis in a the community hospital setting.

LongHairDoctor developed a training device for intraperitoneal surgical tie and applied for a patent.

In any surgical treatment, surgical tie performed during surgery is the most basic and important technique.

However, systematic education is not provided for trainees, and only practice of making surgical knots using artificial skin or organs is mainly done in an open space.

The training device for intraperitoneal surgical tie developed by LongHairDoctor can improve the efficiency of practice by providing an environment similar to the actual surgery performed in the abdominal cavity.

The device has a hole inside, which shows the position and movement of the operator's hand and makes it easy to correct the trainee's faults. In addition, it can be printed out by 3D printing, allowing individualized production to fit the patient's abdominal cavity size.
