Ever feel like your hair is trying to tell you something… but you’re not sure what? 👀
As a stylist, I see this every day — many hair problems aren’t “bad hair days”, they’re signs of deeper damage.

Here are 5 signs your hair may need professional treatment:

✨ Dry & Brittle – rough texture, snapping ends, constant dryness
✨ Uncontrollable Frizz – frizz that won’t behave no matter what you apply
✨ Dull & Flat – no shine, no life, colour looks tired
✨ Breakage – short, uneven strands instead of healthy length
✨ Loss of Elasticity – hair stretches, feels gummy, or breaks easily

At-home products can help temporarily, but when these signs keep coming back, it usually means your hair needs targeted, professional care, not another quick fix.

That’s why I always recommend getting your hair properly assessed and treated by specialists who focus on long-term hair health, not just surface results.

If you’re noticing any of these signs, 📩 reach out to me for a professional hair treatment consultation — I’ll help identify the root cause and restore your hair the right way.

Save this post if your hair needs some love 💛

Just went to a scalp class hosted by the founders of Hair Poter and… I didn’t expect it to be THIS fun 😅
We did so many hands-on activities, and at one point I somehow became the test subject — still not sure how that happened 😂

But seriously, I learnt so much about scalp health today. It made me realise how many little issues we usually ignore until they get worse.

I’ll be sharing more scalp knowledge soon, so stay tuned!
Meanwhile, I’m curious — what scalp concerns are YOU dealing with right now?
• Itchy scalp?
• Oily roots?
• Dandruff?
• Hair falling more than usual?
• Dry/flaky patches?

Drop it in the comments below or PM me if you want me to check your scalp condition. Happy to help! 🤍

Keratin vs Japanese Straightening — Which One Suits Your Hair?

If smooth, manageable hair is what you’re chasing, you’ve probably heard people talk about keratin treatments and Japanese straightening. Both can tame frizz and create sleeker hair — but the way they work, and the results they deliver, are completely different.

Here’s a simple breakdown to help you understand which option fits your hair goals and lifestyle.

💛 Japanese Straightening (Rebonding)

What it actually does:

The result:
• Very straight, very smooth, very shiny
• A dramatic makeover, even for tight curls and strong frizz
• Easily replaces daily straightening

How long it lasts:
The treated hair stays straight permanently — only your regrowth needs touch-ups every 6–8 months.

Best suited for:
Anyone wanting a long-term straight look with minimal daily styling.
Not ideal for hair that’s already highly processed or fragile.

💙 Keratin Treatment

The result:
• Softer, shinier, frizz-reduced hair
• Retains your natural movement — not pin-straight
• Makes your hair quicker and easier to style

How long it lasts:
Around 2–5 months depending on your hair and aftercare (sulphate-free is key!).

Best suited for:
Frizzy, dry or wavy hair that needs smoothing without losing body.

💡 So… Which One Should You Choose?

Choose Japanese straightening if you want:
✔ Permanently straight hair
✔ A sleek finish every day
✔ Minimal heat styling

Choose Keratin if you want:
✔ Softer, smoother, more manageable hair
✔ Less frizz but still natural movement
✔ A semi-permanent, lower-commitment option

Both treatments can completely level up your hair — it just depends on what you want, how much maintenance you’re okay with, and the current condition of your hair.

If you’re unsure which one suits you best, I’m always happy to assess your hair, chat through your daily routine, and recommend the option that will genuinely give you the results you’re after.

Ever walked out of a salon with hair colour that wasn’t quite what you imagined?
Or maybe you tried a DIY dye at home and ended up with a little more orange, green, or brass than expected? Trust me — you’re definitely not the only one!

That’s where colour correction comes in.
It’s not just a quick fix — it’s a detailed, science-based process that neutralises unwanted tones and helps bring your hair back to a shade you actually love.

Here’s what I’ve learnt along the way 👇

🎨 It’s a multi-step journey
Colour correction often takes time. Depending on the damage or layers of old colour, it can take hours — sometimes more than one appointment — to get things right. Patience truly pays off.

🔵🟣 It’s all about the colour wheel
Blue cancels orange, violet cancels yellow… your colourist uses these principles to precisely balance out the unwanted tones in your hair.

⚠️ Bleaching may be involved
And yes, bleaching can be harsh. A good stylist will always prioritise the health of your hair, sometimes recommending bond repair or treatments before starting the correction.

🧪 “Filling” might be needed
If you’re going darker, your hair may need a warm base added first — otherwise the colour can turn muddy or patchy.

💬 Set realistic expectations
Some results can’t happen in one go, especially if the hair is compromised. Healthy hair always comes first.

If you’re planning a colour correction, here are my best tips:

✨ Book a proper consultation
✨ Be patient with the process
✨ Start with a strong haircare foundation
✨ Follow aftercare religiously
✨ Choose a salon that truly knows corrective work

Colour correction isn’t just a service — it’s a transformation journey. Once you understand the process and trust the professionals, you’ll walk away with hair you genuinely adore. 💛

Come see me for a consultation — I’ll assess your hair, create a personalised plan, and help bring your colour back to its absolute best.
Let me fix the tones you’re unhappy with and get you looking and feeling better than ever. 💛
