HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 16
Phase Two
The glowing blue syringe reflected in Vincenzo’s eyes.
Calm.
Obsessed.
Terrifying.
My entire body tensed as he stepped closer.
“Stay away from her,” Ethan growled weakly.
Vincenzo barely looked at him.
“This is bigger than love, Ethan.”
He lifted the syringe slightly.
“This is history.”
I backed away slowly.
“What’s in that?”
Vincenzo smiled faintly.
“The final step.”
My mother immediately stood between us.
“No.”
Her voice shook.
Not with fear.
With desperation.
“You know what it did to the others.”
Vincenzo’s expression darkened.
“She’s stronger than the others.”
Others?
My stomach twisted.
“How many people died?” I whispered.
Nobody answered.
That silence told me enough.
My breathing became uneven.
“You experimented on children?”
“On possibilities,” Vincenzo corrected calmly.
“You’re insane.”
“No,” he replied softly.
“I’m a visionary.”
Ethan tried to stand again.
But pain forced him back down.
Blood soaked the concrete beneath him now.
Every second mattered.
“Amara…” he whispered.
I rushed to him instantly.
His skin was freezing cold.
“You need help.”
He gave me a weak smile.
“I’ve had worse dates.”
I let out a broken laugh through my tears.
Then his face turned serious.
“You can’t let him inject you.”
Vincenzo sighed impatiently.
“You say that because you fear what she could become.”
“No,” Ethan snapped weakly.
“I say it because I know what you are.”
The air grew heavier.
The lights above us flickered violently again.
And suddenly—
The strange energy inside me surged harder.
Pain exploded through my veins.
I gasped sharply.
My vision blurred—
Then sharpened unnaturally.
I could see every tiny detail around me.
Dust floating in the air.
The trembling fingers of the gunmen.
The pulse beating in Vincenzo’s neck.
“What’s happening to me?” I whispered.
Vincenzo looked almost emotional now.
“Your body is evolving.”
“I don’t want this!”
“You don’t get to choose anymore.”
My mother grabbed my shoulders desperately.
“Listen to me. If he injects you with Phase Two…”
Her voice cracked.
“…you may lose yourself completely.”
Fear hit me instantly.
“What does that mean?”
Vincenzo answered for her.
“It means your limitations disappear.”
My chest tightened.
“And my humanity?”
Silence.
That silence terrified me more than anything else tonight.
Suddenly—
A gunshot rang out.
Everyone turned sharply.
One of Vincenzo’s men collapsed instantly.
Then another.
And another.
Snipers.
But not Vincenzo’s.
Black armored vehicles burst through the garage entrance.
Different symbols.
Silver wolves painted on the doors.
Gunmen stormed in from every direction.
Professional.
Fast.
Deadly.
Vincenzo’s face hardened instantly.
“Well,” he muttered.
“That’s unexpected.”
One of the new attackers stepped forward through the smoke.
Tall.
Blonde.
Scar across his jaw.
Cold blue eyes fixed directly on me.
Then he smiled.
“There she is.”
My blood ran cold.
My mother looked horrified.
“No…”
Vincenzo slowly lowered the syringe.
For the first time—
He looked genuinely concerned.
The stranger tilted his head slightly.
Then said the words that shattered the room:
“You stole something that belongs to us, Vincenzo.”
My heart pounded.
“What is he talking about?”
The man’s eyes locked onto mine.
And he answered calmly—
“Project Athena.”
Silence.
Then my mother whispered weakly—
“Oh God…”
The stranger smiled wider.
“Yes,” he said.
“She finally knows her real name.”

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 15
The Power Inside Me
The bullet dropped from my hand.
Clink.
The sound echoed across the burning garage like a warning.
Nobody moved.
Nobody breathed.
Every pair of eyes stared at me in shock.
Even the gunmen looked afraid now.
I slowly looked down at my trembling hand.
No injury.
No blood.
Just the crushed bullet resting on the floor beneath me.
My heartbeat thundered in my ears.
“What… did I just do?”
Vincenzo smiled proudly.
Like a father watching his child take her first step.
“Amazing,” he whispered.
My mother looked horrified.
“No… it’s happening too early.”
Ethan struggled to sit up against the wrecked SUV.
His eyes locked onto me.
Not with fear.
With concern.
“Amara…”
But I barely heard him.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
The ringing in my ears grew louder.
Stronger.
Then suddenly—
I could hear everything.
The crackling fire.
The shifting footsteps.
The terrified heartbeat of the sniper hiding above us.
My breathing became uneven.
“What’s happening to me?” I whispered.
My mother rushed toward me carefully.
“You need to stay calm.”
“How can I stay calm?!”
The lights above us flickered violently.
Sparks exploded from the ceiling.
Vincenzo’s smile widened.
“She’s reacting.”
“I said STOP!” my mother screamed at him.
But he ignored her completely.
His eyes never left me.
“You feel it, don’t you?” he asked softly.
“The power.”
“I don’t want this!”
“You were born for this.”
Suddenly—
Pain shot through my body.
I gasped sharply and dropped to my knees.
Every nerve burned like fire.
Memories flashed through my mind—
Needles.
Doctors.
Bright lights.
Screaming.
A little girl crying in a laboratory.
Me.
I saw Vincenzo standing behind glass.
Watching.
Smiling.
“No…” I whispered.
The memories kept coming faster.
Machines connected to my mother while she begged them to stop.
Scientists arguing.
One voice shouting:
“The child’s cells are mutating!”
Another voice:
“She’s unstable!”
Then Vincenzo’s calm reply:
“Make her stronger.”
I screamed.
The force exploded out of me instantly.
BOOM!
Every car window in the garage shattered at once.
Men flew backward violently.
The ground cracked beneath me.
Even the fire bent outward from the shockwave.
Silence followed.
Terrified silence.
I stared at my own hands in horror.
“I did that…”
My mother slowly approached me again.
Gentler this time.
“Amara… listen to me carefully.”
Tears streamed down my face.
“I’m dangerous.”
“No,” she said softly.
“You’re traumatized.”
Vincenzo laughed quietly.
“She’s becoming exactly what she was designed to be.”
Ethan forced himself up despite the pain.
“She’s not your weapon.”
Vincenzo’s expression darkened instantly.
“She belongs to me.”
“No,” Ethan growled.
“She belongs to herself.”
Something shifted inside me hearing those words.
For the first time since this nightmare began…
Someone wasn’t trying to control me.
Not my father.
Not my mother.
Not Vincenzo.
Not even Ethan.
My chest tightened painfully.
Then another memory slammed into me.
A woman screaming.
Gunfire.
Blood on white floors.
And one final sentence—
“If the girl survives… hide her.”
My eyes widened suddenly.
“Mom…”
She froze.
“You knew this would happen.”
Her silence answered me.
Rage exploded inside me.
“You lied to me my entire life!”
“I was protecting you!”
“By turning me into a lie?!”
Before she could answer—
Ethan suddenly collapsed beside the SUV.
Blood poured heavily from his wound now.
My anger vanished instantly.
“ETHAN!”
I rushed to him.
His skin felt cold.
Too cold.
“No, no, stay with me.”
He smiled weakly.
“You move really fast now.”
I burst into tears.
“This isn’t funny anymore.”
His hand weakly touched my cheek.
Then his expression changed suddenly.
Fear.
Real fear.
“Amara…”
“What?”
He looked behind me.
My blood froze.
Vincenzo stood only a few feet away now.
Holding a syringe filled with glowing blue liquid.
“This,” he said calmly…
“…is Phase Two.”

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 14
The Monster They Created
The words echoed in my skull.
“You weren’t fully human anymore.”
I stared at my mother in horror.
“What did you do to me?”
Tears streamed down her face.
“I tried to protect you.”
“That’s not an answer!”
Another explosion rocked the garage.
Flames climbed higher around us.
Smoke burned my lungs.
But none of it mattered anymore.
Because suddenly—
I didn’t even know what I was.
Ethan struggled to sit up beside me.
His face pale from blood loss.
“Elena…” he said weakly. “Tell her everything.”
My mother closed her eyes briefly.
Then nodded.
“Years ago,” she whispered, “Vincenzo funded a secret program.”
Vincenzo smiled calmly from across the burning garage.
“A brilliant program.”
She ignored him.
“They were experimenting on unborn children.”
My stomach twisted violently.
“What kind of experiments?”
My mother hesitated.
That hesitation terrified me.
“Genetic enhancement,” she said finally.
“To create stronger humans.”
Silence.
The world felt unreal.
“No…”
“You were the only successful subject.”
A cold chill spread through my entire body.
“Successful?”
Vincenzo stepped forward slowly.
“Extraordinary reflexes. Increased healing. Higher pain tolerance.”
His eyes gleamed with obsession.
“You were perfection.”
“I’m not a science project!” I screamed.
“No,” he replied softly.
“You’re evolution.”
Gunfire echoed again behind him, but his men stayed perfectly still.
Like soldiers protecting a king.
My mother grabbed my arm tightly.
“He became obsessed after you survived.”
“Because she’s valuable,” Vincenzo interrupted.
“She’s my daughter.”
“You lost the right to call her that!”
For the first time—
Real anger flashed across Vincenzo’s face.
“You stole her from me!”
“I SAVED HER FROM YOU!”
The tension exploded between them.
And suddenly…
I realized something horrifying.
This wasn’t revenge.
This wasn’t even about Ethan’s father anymore.
It was always about me.
Ethan coughed painfully beside me.
Blood soaked through his shirt faster now.
I knelt beside him immediately.
“Stay awake.”
He managed a weak smile.
“You’re shaking.”
“How are you joking right now?”
“Because if I stop talking…” he whispered, “…I might stop breathing.”
Fear punched through my chest.
“No.”
His fingers brushed against mine weakly.
“Amara…”
His voice was fading.
“I need you to listen carefully.”
Tears blurred my vision instantly.
“You’re going to survive this.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Yes, I do!”
Vincenzo watched us silently now.
Almost fascinated.
Then Ethan reached into his jacket slowly.
And pulled out a small silver key.
I frowned.
“What is that?”
“The safety deposit box,” he whispered.
“The evidence?”
He nodded weakly.
“It explains everything.”
My mother’s eyes widened slightly.
“You found it?”
Ethan looked at her.
“My father kept records.”
Vincenzo’s expression darkened instantly.
“What records?”
Ethan smiled painfully.
“The kind that destroy empires.”
For the first time—
Vincenzo looked unsettled.
Then suddenly—
One of his men shouted—
“SNIPER!”
A shot rang out.
Everything happened at once.
My mother shoved me down.
Another bullet flew past my head.
Then—
Something inside me snapped.
A strange ringing filled my ears.
My heartbeat slowed unnaturally.
The world around me suddenly moved…
Slower.
Much slower.
I could see the bullets.
The smoke.
The falling sparks.
Every movement.
Every breath.
My eyes widened in terror.
“What’s happening to me?”
My mother looked horrified.
“No…”
Vincenzo smiled.
Proud.
“She’s awakening.”
Then another sniper bullet tore toward Ethan’s head—
And before I could think—
I moved.
Faster than humanly possible.
I caught the bullet.
With my bare hand.
Silence crashed over the garage.
Everyone stared at me.
Including Ethan.
My trembling hand slowly opened.
The crushed bullet fell to the ground.
And for the first time in my life—
I understood why everyone feared me.

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 13
The Truth Hidden in Fire
The garage fell silent.
Not because the danger was gone—
But because everyone feared the man standing in front of us.
Vincenzo.
He stood calmly between burning vehicles and dead bodies like chaos belonged to him.
Like he controlled it.
His cold eyes settled on me.
Then softened slightly.
“My daughter,” he said quietly.
The words made my skin crawl.
“I’m not your daughter,” I snapped.
A faint smile touched his lips.
“You have your mother’s temper too.”
My mother immediately stood in front of me, gun raised.
“Stay away from her.”
Vincenzo sighed.
“Still protecting her after all these years.”
“She’s not part of this.”
“Oh, Elena,” he said softly. “She was always part of this.”
Elena.
The name sounded strange in my ears.
My mother noticed my expression.
And pain flickered across her face.
“Amara…”
“You lied to me,” I whispered.
Her eyes filled with tears instantly.
“I was trying to save you.”
“By pretending to be dead?!”
Gunfire crackled in the distance, but nobody moved.
Nobody dared interrupt.
“You don’t understand,” she pleaded.
“Then MAKE me understand!”
My voice echoed through the burning garage.
Ethan groaned weakly beside me.
Still alive.
Barely.
Vincenzo glanced down at him with amusement.
“The Cole boy survives longer than expected.”
I moved protectively in front of Ethan immediately.
Vincenzo noticed.
And his expression changed.
Something dangerous flashed in his eyes.
“You love him?”
The question caught me off guard.
I opened my mouth—
But no words came out.
Because deep down…
I already knew the answer.
Vincenzo laughed softly.
“How tragic.”
My mother’s face darkened.
“Don’t do this.”
“Oh, I’m absolutely doing this.”
He slowly stepped closer.
His men tightened their grip on their weapons instantly.
“Elena,” he said calmly, “you stole my child from me.”
“You would have turned her into a weapon!”
“She IS a weapon.”
My blood ran cold.
“What does that mean?”
Neither of them answered immediately.
Then Vincenzo looked directly at me.
“Do you know why everyone kept secrets from you, Amara?”
I swallowed hard.
“Because the moment people discover who you really are…”
He smiled slowly.
“…they start dying.”
A chill raced through my entire body.
“What are you talking about?”
Vincenzo nodded toward Ethan.
“His father died because of you.”
“No!” Ethan forced out angrily. “That’s not true.”
“Isn’t it?” Vincenzo replied calmly.
Then he looked at me again.
“You were born with something people would kill for.”
Confusion twisted inside me.
“What?”
Vincenzo’s smile widened slightly.
But before he could answer—
My mother fired her gun.
BANG!
The bullet grazed Vincenzo’s shoulder.
Chaos exploded instantly.
“MOVE!” my mother screamed.
Gunfire erupted everywhere.
She grabbed my arm while dragging Ethan with surprising strength.
We ran between burning vehicles as bullets tore through the garage.
“Who am I?!” I shouted desperately.
My mother looked terrified now.
Not of Vincenzo.
Of the truth.
Then she screamed the words I never expected to hear—
“You were part of an experiment!”
My entire world stopped.
“What?!”
Another explosion shook the garage violently.
Cars burst into flames behind us.
My mother shoved me and Ethan behind an overturned SUV.
Her breathing shook now.
“She was never supposed to survive,” Vincenzo shouted from the smoke.
“But she did.”
I stared at my mother in horror.
“What experiment?”
Tears streamed down her face.
Then finally—
She told me the truth.
“When you were born…”
Her voice broke.
“…you weren’t fully human anymore.”

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 12
The Mother Who Abandoned Me
My heart stopped.
“I’m your mother.”
The words shattered everything inside me.
I stared at the woman in front of me.
The same eyes.
The same cheekbones.
The same tiny scar near her eyebrow that I saw every morning in my own reflection.
It was her.
It was really her.
“No…” I whispered weakly.
The woman grabbed my arm urgently.
“Amara, we have to leave now!”
Gunfire exploded again behind us.
One of the SUVs burst into flames.
But I pulled away from her instantly.
“No!”
Pain flashed across her face.
“We don’t have time for this.”
“You’re dead,” I said, my voice breaking. “You were supposed to be dead!”
Ethan groaned weakly beside me.
Blood still poured from his wound.
My mother glanced at him quickly.
“He won’t survive if we stay here.”
My chest tightened.
“Help him then!”
“I can’t carry both of you.”
The words hit me hard.
Cold.
Practical.
Almost heartless.
Just like Ethan used to sound.
Another bullet struck the wall nearby.
“We’re running out of time!” she snapped.
I looked down at Ethan desperately.
His eyes barely stayed open now.
“Amara…” he whispered.
I grabbed his hand instantly.
“I’m here.”
His fingers tightened weakly around mine.
“Go with her.”
Tears spilled down my face.
“No.”
“You have to.”
“I’m not leaving you again!”
A faint smile touched his lips.
“Again?”
I choked on a sob.
Then suddenly—
Headlights flooded the garage entrance.
Another convoy.
Black armored vehicles.
More men stepped out.
But these men wore red armbands.
Vincenzo’s symbol.
My mother’s face changed instantly.
Fear.
Real fear.
“Damn it,” she whispered.
One of the men shouted—
“There she is!”
Gunfire erupted immediately.
My mother pulled out a pistol and fired back with deadly precision.
Two men dropped instantly.
I stared at her in shock.
She moved like someone trained to kill.
“AMARA!” she shouted.
“MOVE!”
I quickly pulled Ethan behind a concrete pillar as bullets flew everywhere.
My mother knelt beside us briefly.
Then she looked directly at Ethan.
“You’re Cole’s son.”
Ethan struggled to focus on her.
“You knew my father?”
Her eyes darkened.
“Yes.”
Something passed between them.
Something painful.
Then Ethan coughed again, blood staining his shirt.
My mother looked at me urgently.
“If we don’t leave now, Vincenzo will take you.”
“Why does he want me?!”
Her face tightened.
Then she whispered the words that made my blood run cold.
“Because you were never supposed to exist.”
Silence.
Even the chaos around us faded for a second.
“What does that mean?” I asked slowly.
But she grabbed my face firmly.
“Listen carefully. Vincenzo is not the man you think he is.”
My heartbeat pounded.
“He’s your father.”
“No.”
Her voice cracked.
“That man is far worse than a father.”
A loud explosion shook the garage.
The ceiling cracked above us.
Dust rained down everywhere.
“We HAVE to go!” she shouted.
I looked at Ethan.
Barely conscious now.
Then back at her.
“If I come with you…”
My voice trembled.
“…you save him too.”
She hesitated.
Just for one second.
Then nodded.
“Fine.”
Relief crashed through me instantly.
But before we could move—
A slow clap echoed through the smoke.
Everyone froze.
A figure stepped forward calmly from the flames.
Elegant gray suit.
Black gloves.
Cold eyes.
Vincenzo.
He smiled as he looked directly at me.
Then at my mother.
“Well,” he said softly.
“What a beautiful family reunion.”

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 11
The Man I Wasn’t Ready to Lose
“ETHAN!”
My scream echoed through the garage.
I dropped to my knees beside him as blood spread rapidly across his chest.
“No… no, no, no…”
His eyes fluttered weakly.
Still alive.
Thank God.
The gunmen slowly surrounded us, weapons raised.
But I didn’t care anymore.
I held Ethan’s face in my trembling hands.
“Stay with me,” I whispered desperately.
His lips moved slightly.
“Amara…”
“Don’t talk.”
A weak smile touched his face.
“You’re crying for your husband now?”
I choked on a sob.
“This isn’t funny!”
The leader of the gunmen sighed impatiently.
“Romantic. Truly.”
I glared at him through tears.
“If he dies, I swear—”
“You’ll do what?” he interrupted calmly.
Then his phone rang.
He answered immediately.
“Yes, sir.”
Silence.
Then his expression changed.
He glanced at me.
At Ethan.
And suddenly lowered his gun.
“…Understood.”
The call ended.
“What did he say?” one of the other men asked.
The leader exhaled slowly.
“New orders.”
My heartbeat pounded painfully.
“Bring the girl alive,” he said.
Then he looked down at Ethan coldly.
“But leave him.”
My chest tightened.
“No.”
Two men stepped toward me.
I backed away protectively.
“No! He needs help!”
“He made his choice,” the leader replied.
“He chose the wrong woman.”
I grabbed Ethan tighter.
“I’m not leaving him!”
A gun clicked beside my head.
“Unfortunately,” the man said calmly, “that wasn’t a request.”
Tears streamed down my face.
Ethan weakly touched my wrist.
“Amara…”
I looked down immediately.
His breathing was shallow now.
Dangerously shallow.
“You need to go,” he whispered.
“I’m not leaving you!”
“You have to.”
“No!”
His fingers tightened weakly around mine.
“Listen to me carefully…”
I shook my head violently.
“Please don’t do this.”
But Ethan forced himself to speak.
“There’s a bank account,” he said slowly. “Under my father’s company.”
“What?”
“The password is your birthday.”
Confusion hit me instantly.
“Why are you telling me this now?”
“Because there’s evidence inside,” he whispered painfully. “Proof about your mother… and Vincenzo.”
My breath caught.
“What proof?”
Ethan coughed violently.
Blood stained his lips.
Fear exploded inside me.
“ETHAN!”
“Go to Clara,” he continued weakly. “She knows everything.”
The gunmen stepped closer again.
“We’re out of time.”
I held Ethan desperately.
“I’m not leaving you here to die.”
His eyes locked onto mine.
And for the first time since I met him—
The hatred was completely gone.
Only regret remained.
“I never wanted to love you,” he whispered.
My heart shattered.
A tear slid down his face.
“But I do.”
Silence consumed everything.
Even the gunmen stopped moving for a second.
My chest ached so badly I could barely breathe.
Then suddenly—
TIRES SCREECHED outside the garage.
Everyone turned sharply.
Gunfire exploded from the entrance.
The gunmen scattered instantly.
“AMBUSH!” someone shouted.
Chaos erupted.
Bullets flew everywhere.
Cars crashed.
Smoke filled the garage.
I covered Ethan protectively as screams echoed around us.
Then—
A black motorcycle burst through the smoke.
The rider wore all black.
Helmet.
Leather jacket.
Dangerous.
The motorcycle stopped directly in front of us.
The rider pulled off the helmet slowly.
And my breath stopped.
It was a woman.
Beautiful.
Cold-eyed.
And terrifyingly familiar.
She looked directly at me.
Then said the words that changed everything.
“Amara,” she said urgently.
“We have to go.”
My voice trembled.
“Who are you?”
The woman’s eyes softened for the first time.

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 10
The Husband Who Chose Me
The door exploded open.
Wood shattered across the floor.
“THERE!” one of the gunmen shouted.
Flashlights blinded us instantly.
Ethan reacted first.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me behind him as bullets ripped through the room.
“RUN!” he yelled.
My legs finally moved.
We sprinted through the collapsing storage room while gunshots thundered behind us.
Dust filled the air.
My chest burned.
My mind burned even worse.
Vincenzo is your father.
The words refused to leave me alone.
“Move faster!” Ethan shouted.
“I’m trying!”
He winced suddenly, nearly stumbling.
The blood loss was getting worse.
I caught him before he fell.
“You can barely stand.”
“I’ll survive.”
Gunshots exploded again.
Too close.
We ran through another hallway hidden beneath the mansion until we reached a narrow staircase leading upward.
Ethan pushed the door open carefully.
We emerged into the garage.
Dark.
Silent.
Empty.
For one brief second, hope returned.
Then—
Headlights switched on.
Three black SUVs blocked the exit.
Men stepped out slowly.
Armed.
Waiting.
One of them smirked.
“Going somewhere?”
My stomach dropped.
Ethan cursed under his breath.
We were trapped.
The men surrounded us carefully.
Professional.
Cold.
One stepped forward and lowered his weapon slightly.
“Mr. Vincenzo wants the girl alive.”
Girl.
Not woman.
Not Amara.
Like I was property.
Ethan stepped in front of me instantly.
“She’s not going anywhere.”
The man laughed.
“You’re bleeding to death, Ethan. Don’t be dramatic.”
Another man aimed directly at Ethan’s chest.
“Move aside.”
“No.”
His answer came without hesitation.
The leader sighed impatiently.
“You’re protecting the daughter of the man you hate most.”
Silence.
Even the air felt frozen.
Then the man smiled cruelly.
“Tell me something, Ethan… does she know the truth?”
My heartbeat slowed.
What truth?
I looked at Ethan immediately.
But he wouldn’t look at me.
Fear crawled into my stomach.
“What truth?” I whispered.
The man chuckled.
“Oh… he hasn’t told you.”
“Shut up,” Ethan warned.
But the man ignored him.
“Your husband knew who your real father was before he married you.”
The world stopped.
I stared at Ethan.
“No…”
His silence destroyed me.
“You knew?” My voice cracked.
Ethan finally looked at me.
Pain filled his eyes.
“Amara—”
“You KNEW?!”
Gunmen watched quietly as my world collapsed.
“You married me anyway?” I whispered.
Ethan stepped toward me carefully.
“I didn’t know at first.”
“But you found out.”
“Yes.”
The word hit like a knife.
Tears blurred my vision.
“So everything was a lie?”
“No.”
“Then what was real?!”
His jaw tightened.
“You.”
My chest ached painfully.
“I was supposed to hate you,” he admitted quietly.
“And I tried.”
The men exchanged amused glances.
But Ethan never looked away from me.
“Then why save me?” I whispered.
He stepped closer despite the guns pointed at him.
“Because somewhere along the way…”
His voice lowered.
“…you stopped feeling like revenge.”
My breath caught.
For one dangerous second—
Everything else disappeared.
The gunmen.
The chaos.
The lies.
It was just him.
Just us.
Then suddenly—
A laser dot appeared on Ethan’s chest.
Sniper.
My eyes widened.
“ETHAN!”
A shot rang out.
Time slowed.
Ethan turned sharply toward me—
And another gunshot exploded.
Blood splattered across my face.
Ethan’s body je**ed violently.
Then collapsed.
Right in front of me.

HE MARRIED ME FOR REVENGE
Episode 9
The Daughter of a Lie
Three months ago.
The date on the photograph burned into my mind like fire.
Three months ago my mother was alive.
Breathing.
Standing beside Vincenzo.
While I mourned her for years.
“This can’t be real,” I whispered.
My hands shook violently as Ethan stared at the picture again.
“She looks exactly like you,” he murmured.
I swallowed hard.
“No… she left me.”
The words hurt to say.
Because suddenly, I didn’t know what was true anymore.
Did she leave?
Or was she taken?
Before Ethan could respond—
Voices exploded outside the room.
“They went this way!”
Flashlights swept across the hallway.
My pulse jumped instantly.
Ethan grabbed my wrist.
“We need another exit.”
“There isn’t one!”
“There has to be.”
He began searching through the dusty room quickly despite the pain from his wound.
I looked around desperately.
Old shelves.
Rotting boxes.
Broken mirrors.
Then—
I noticed a small metal cabinet hidden behind a curtain.
Locked.
“Ethan,” I whispered urgently. “Here.”
He forced it open with the butt of his gun.
Inside were documents.
Passports.
Money.
And a small black diary.
My father’s handwriting covered the front.
Amara.
My breath caught.
“He wrote my name…”
Ethan took the diary carefully.
“Open it.”
My fingers trembled as I flipped through the pages.
Most were filled with strange names, dates, payments—
Then I found a page marked in red.
And everything stopped.
“If anything happens to me, Amara must never discover who her real father is.”
Silence.
The world disappeared around me.
I stared at the words over and over.
Unable to breathe.
Unable to think.
Ethan slowly took the diary from my hand.
His expression darkened as he continued reading.
Then he froze too.
“What?” I whispered weakly.
He looked at me carefully.
Too carefully.
“Ethan… what is it?”
He hesitated.
That hesitation terrified me.
Finally, he spoke.
“According to this…”
My chest tightened painfully.
“…Chidi Okoye isn’t your biological father.”
The room spun.
“No.”
I backed away immediately.
“No, that’s a lie.”
But Ethan kept reading silently.
Then his face went pale.
“What?” I shouted.
“Tell me!”
His jaw tightened.
“There’s another name written here.”
Every nerve in my body went cold.
“Whose name?”
He looked up slowly.
And for the first time—
I saw genuine shock in his eyes.
Then he whispered—
“Vincenzo.”
My knees gave out beneath me.
“No…”
The diary slipped from Ethan’s hands and hit the floor.
A photograph fell out with it.
I picked it up slowly.
My mother.
Younger.
Pregnant.
Standing beside Vincenzo.
His hand resting on her stomach.
My heart shattered.
“No… no, no…”
Then I turned the photo over.
And nearly screamed.
Written on the back were four words:
“Our daughter. Our future.”
A loud crash suddenly burst from outside the room.
The attackers had found the door.
Ethan grabbed my arm immediately.
“Amara, we have to go NOW!”
But I couldn’t move.
Because only one thought echoed inside my head—
Who am I?
💥
Is Vincenzo really Amara’s biological father… and did Ethan marry the daughter of the man he hates most?
