NMA OYO STATE KICKS OFF 2025 PHYSICIAN'S WEEK WITH A HEARTFELT THANKSGIVING SERVICE.
The 2025 Physician’s Week of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Oyo State Branch, commenced today, Sunday, 19th October 2025, with a Thanksgiving Service held at Christ’s Chapel, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
The event brought together members of the Association in a spirit of gratitude to appreciate the Almighty GOD for the gift of life, His unending mercies, and the strength to continue rendering selfless service to humanity. Prayers were also offered for the success of the week’s activities and for the peace and progress of our dear nation, Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Happy Adedapo, expressed profound appreciation to the Church for its unwavering support and prayers, noting that the NMA and the Church are true partners in progress in the service of GOD and humanity.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Oyo State Branch, has threatened to embark on strike action if the state government fails to address the lingering crisis at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH-TH), Ogbomoso, within the next 15 days.

A new HIV prevention drug will be made available at a lower cost in over 100 low-income countries within two years — a move expected to give millions access to the breakthrough treatment and potentially bring the world closer to ending the HIV/Aids epidemic.
The drug, called Lenacapavir and administered by injection, is due to be rolled out as early as the end of this year, at a cost of $28,000 (£20,000) per person annually.
