A woman named Ogechi Okechukwu has been arrested for cheating people out of their money. She pretended to need surgery and asked for donations on Facebook. A kind-hearted influencer, Uwaoma Susan Joseph helped raise close to N 1m for Ogechi, thinking her story was true.

However, investigators discovered that Ogechi was lying and had planned the scam with a doctor in FMC Yenagoa. Evidence of their conversations was found on Ogechi's phone. She is now in detention while authorities continue to investigate the fraud.
