Famjubs Rx
A retail pharmacy with the health of the populace at heart, giving out health education.
Hello everyone, and happy World Pharmacist Day 2026! ππ
Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate pharmacists not just as healthcare professionals, but as people who dedicate so much of themselves to the wellbeing of others.
To every pharmacist around the world, whether you work in a community pharmacy, hospital, industry, academia, research, public health, regulatory practice, or any other part of healthcare this day is for you.
We know the long hours.
We know the pressure.
We know the responsibility that comes with every medicine we dispense, every patient we counsel, and every decision we make.
And sometimes, the impact we make may never be fully seen or acknowledged.
But I want you to remember this:
Your work matters.
Every patient you educate, every medication error you prevent, every person you reassure, and every life you contribute to improving is part of the difference you are making.
So today, I celebrate you.
I celebrate your knowledge, your dedication, your resilience, your compassion, and the sacrifices you make every day to keep people healthier.
From one pharmacist to pharmacists around the globe:
Thank you for serving. Thank you for caring. And thank you for making a difference.
Happy World Pharmacist Day 2026.
Keep shining. Keep serving. Keep making an impact.

π HAPPY WORLD PHARMACIST DAY 2026!ππ
βEmpowering pharmacists for healthier futures.β
Behind every prescription is a pharmacist checking, questioning, counselling and making sure that the medicine reaching a patient is the right medicine, at the right dose, for the right reason.
But pharmacy is so much more than dispensing medicines.
Pharmacists educate.
Pharmacists listen.
Pharmacists prevent medication errors.
Pharmacists support patients living with chronic conditions.
Pharmacists promote public health.
Pharmacists contribute to research, innovation and healthcare delivery.
And sometimes, pharmacists are simply the health professional someone turns to when they don't know where else to go. β€οΈ
From the community pharmacy to the hospital, laboratory, industry, academia, research, public health and beyond, pharmacists continue to make a difference in ways that may not always be seen but are deeply felt.
Today, we celebrate every pharmacist around the world.
To the pharmacist who stays late to ensure patients are properly cared for.
To the one who patiently explains a medication for the fifth time.
To the one working behind the scenes to ensure medicines are safe and available.
To the pharmacist balancing professional responsibility, family, pressure and the demands of everyday life.
We see you. We appreciate you. And we celebrate you. π
From all of us at FAMJUBS Pharmacy, thank you to pharmacists everywhere for the knowledge, compassion, sacrifices and commitment you bring to healthcare every single day.
May we continue to grow, innovate, serve humanity and help build healthier communities and a healthier future.

Understanding Malaria: Causes, Symptoms & Prevention
π¦ MALARIA: KNOW THE SIGNS. PREVENT THE BITE. TREAT EARLY.
Malaria remains one of the biggest public health challenges in Nigeria, affecting millions of people every year. Although it is preventable and treatable, delayed diagnosis and inappropriate treatment continue to result in severe illness and unnecessary deaths.
At Famjubs Pharmacy, we believe that education is one of the most effective tools in preventing malaria.
π Malaria in Nigeria: The Facts
Nigeria bears the highest malaria burden in the world.
According to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) data:
* π³π¬ Nigeria accounted for approximately 24% of all malaria cases globally in 2024.
* Nearly one-third of global malaria deaths occurred in Nigeria.
* An estimated 68.5 million malaria cases and about 185,000 malaria-related deaths occurred in Nigeria in 2024.
* Children under five years of age and pregnant women remain the groups most vulnerable to severe malaria and its complications. ([World Health Organization][1])
These numbers remind us that malaria is more than just "a common fever"βit is a disease that deserves prompt attention.
π¦ What Causes Malaria?
Malaria is caused by *Plasmodium* parasites, which are transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected **female Anopheles mosquito**.
It cannot be spread through:
β Handshakes
β Sharing food
β Hugging someone with malaria
π¨ Common Symptoms
Watch out for these warning signs:
π‘οΈ High fever
π₯Ά Chills and shivering
π€ Persistent headache
πͺ Muscle and joint pains
π€’ Nausea or vomiting
π΄ Extreme tiredness
π½οΈ Loss of appetite
π¦ Excessive sweating
If treatment is delayed, malaria can progress to severe disease, causing confusion, seizures, difficulty breathing, kidney failure, severe anaemia, or even death.
β οΈ Don't Assume Every Fever is Malaria
Many illnessesβincluding typhoid fever, viral infections, and some bacterial infectionsβcan also cause fever.
The best practice is to get tested before taking antimalarial medicines. Proper diagnosis ensures you receive the right treatment and helps reduce unnecessary use of medications.
β
How to Prevent Malaria
Protect yourself and your family by:
β Sleeping under insecticide-treated mosquito nets.
β Eliminating stagnant water around your home.
β Keeping your surroundings clean.
β Installing window and door screens.
β Wearing long-sleeved clothing in the evenings.
β Using mosquito repellents where appropriate.
β Seeking medical attention as soon as symptoms develop.
