This week's tasks are looking a little bit challenging to achieve, but we move regardless 💪

We’re our own problem in this country.

In case you’re just getting to know me, I also sell building materials, and something happened today that really prompted this post.

A customer was looking for a particular product in the market — about 150–160 cartons. I searched almost the entire market but couldn’t find it. The product is scarce at the moment, probably because the company has been slow with production due to the fasting period.

After asking people close to us in the market, they all said the product wasn’t available.

After all the searching, I eventually found the product in two different places in the whole market. The problem was that neither of them had it complete. One person had about 100 cartons, and the other had about 80 cartons.

The one who had 100 cartons immediately increased the price because he thought he was the only one who had the product in the entire market. I begged and begged to see if he could reduce the price a little, but this man refused.

We then went to the other person and pleaded with him to reduce the price slightly, and thankfully he agreed. We started loading from him, hoping we would complete the remaining cartons from the other person who had 100 cartons.

After everything, we were able to load 129 cartons, which was still a plus for us.

So we went back to the other man’s shop to complete the remaining cartons. This man now said he can’t sell just 30 cartons, that he wants to sell the entire 100 cartons at once.

Honestly, I was really pi**ed at his response.

After all the back and forth, he eventually agreed to give us the 30 cartons.

But what I don’t understand is this: we begged you to reduce your price and you clearly said you wouldn’t. So how exactly is it my fault that we bought from another person?

We complain so much about the government in power, but if they give some of us that seat for just 48 hours, we’ll do signs and wonders there.

Sometimes, we are truly our own problem.

This right here is one of the reasons Nigeria might never get better..... There's this lifestyle content creator on IG that usually makes a video of the long queue at the BRT stand any time she gets there.. You needed to see the crowd that day and there was no single BRT bus on sight.People were running late, yet no bus to convey them to their destinations. She made a video begging the Lagos state government to provide more BRT buses for them. While she was making the video, a lady on that same queue started h@rassing her saying she shouldn't make any video and if she dares, she would spoil her phone and also beat her up.. I don't really understand the colour of that woman's problem oo, first the lady is trying to highlight an issue that affects you and other Nigerians and instead of you to lend your voice, you chose to h@rass her.. At this point, I think she's so in love with the long queue and how she gets to work very late because of that problem. Some Nigerians don't just like help at all. The best thing is to just allow them drown in that problem because they're very very comfortable from the look of things..

Be the change you want to see keep being you, don't let anybody intimidate you

Let me tell you people what I saw today...

There’s this woman I usually patronize anytime I don’t have the strength to cook. Her spot is just outside my compound. So I went there today as usual because I wanted to buy food.

Only for me to get there and see that her 13- or 14-year-old son was the one cooking the soup, while she, the mother, was just on one side gisting with someone — only God knows who.

You needed to see the irritation on my face 👀

I’m not saying you shouldn’t teach your son how to cook o. But next time he’s cooking, let it be food meant for only him and his siblings — not food meant for public consumption, biko 🤲🤲

I immediately made up my mind at that spot never to patronize her again. Because even if I tell her about it, she might not see any issue with it — which is understandable, since humans reason differently.

That explains why there's usually little or no salt in her soup sometimes 😩😩
