A few months ago, I visited a natural hair salon to have a Trim.
Mind you, it wasn't a mushroom salon. It's one of the best in Lagos. I had gone to their mainland branch.
When I arrived, other ladies were waiting and all the stylists were engaged.
I was already scared that I was going to miss the program I had for that day.

Then one of the stylists asked me what service I came for, I told her I only came to trim my hair.

Shortly after, another stylist finished up with her client and asked me to come over so she could attend to me.

I was happy that I would be on time for my event, not knowing what was waiting for me later.

So, I sat down and she proceeded to detangle, blow dry and trim my hair and put in 2 braids.

I went home feeling that I had given my hair, the care it deserved.

Fast forward to two weeks later.
I took down the protective style. Remember my hair was blow-dried, so it was stretched and had little tangles.

I went on to wash, deep condition and was about to style my hair.

That was when I noticed the nightmare 🥵🥵

The lady didn't give me a trim but a CUT!

My long hair was gone 😩😫 😪 😭
She took me to the length of my hair about 3 years prior.

I shed a tear, to be honest.

I hadn't noticed how much length she was cutting because the hair was stretched and I wasn't paying attention. I mean, that is the same salon I have always trimmed. I handle my hair myself most times but I love having a professional touch occasionally that’s what takes me there most times.

That was the last time I checked my length. I don't bother looking at my length in the mirror because it saddens me to see how much of it is gone.

If you follow me on Facebook, you will remember I talked about someone 'murdering' my hair. Though I didn't show the length.

In hindsight, I wish had taken a photo of it though, because I could have now shown before and after. But I was too disappointed and sad to even look at it. I didn't want to see how low the hair was.

Someone stopped me to find out what hair extension I used to style my hair, you can imagine her surprise when I told her that there is no extension but all my hair.
