Dear Nigerian husbands,

Carrying your baby for 15 minutes is not “help.”

Changing diapers is not “help.”

Taking your child to school is not “help.”

Those are not favours.

They are fatherhood.

Parenting is not a job you assist your wife with.

It is a responsibility you share.

Let’s be honest…

So I saw a post saying some men test their girlfriends with poverty…

To know if she truly loves them.

I smiled.

But something told me to ask questions.

So I called my fiancé.

He picked happily,
“Hello my love ❤️”

I said,
“Hi… I just have a small question.”

He said, “Go ahead.”

I said,

“You’re not planning to stress me to prove my love abi?”

He laughed.

I didn’t.

I said,

“Because love is already hard enough.”

“No need to add unnecessary hardship to it.”

“If we are building together, let’s build with honesty… not hidden tests.”

He became quiet.

Then he said,
“You’re right.”

And I smiled.

Because sometimes, it’s not about passing tests.

It’s about choosing each other… without conditions.
