EPISODE 3
Early the next morningâŠ
Sharon was seen at the back of their house, seated on a small wooden stool. Her eyes were fixed on the ground, but her mind was far away⊠heavy with thoughts.
Little did she know Helen had been standing beside her, watching quietly.
Helen studied her sisterâs face for a while⊠the stress, the worry⊠the silent pain.
Then she coughed lightly.
âAhemâŠâ
Sharon jumped slightly, snapping back to reality.
âOh!â she said, placing her hand on her chest. âI didnât know you were standing there.â
Helen sighed and moved closer.
âYouâve been sitting here for long,â she said softly. âWhat are you thinking about?â
Sharon forced a small smile.
âNothing,â she replied quickly. âJust⊠life.â
Helen shook her head.
âItâs never ânothingâ with you, Sister,â she said. âYou carry everything alone.â
Sharon looked away.
âIâm fine,â she insisted. âDonât worry about me.â
Helen sat down on a small stone beside her.
âBut I will worry,â she said quietly. âYouâre my sister.â This is our cross not just you alone, your worry is my worry and your win is our win.
There was a brief silence.
Then Helen spoke againâŠ
âIs it about the exam money?â Is it about Kingsley going back to school?
Sharonâs lips parted slightly⊠but no words came out.
That alone was enough of an answer.
Helen sighed deeply.
âI told you to forget it,â she said. âI can always try next year.â I am going to work hard even if it is to clear 10 farms a day just to make Kingsley go back to school I'll do it.
âNo!â Sharon said immediately, turning to her.
âYou and Kingsley are my responsibility, I can't watch you work in the farm when your mates are in the university,â "You have tried so hard to save up for years, I won't let this year pass you by, she said firmly. âYouâve already sacrificed too much.â
Helen gave a sad smile.
âAnd what about you?â she asked. âWhat have you not done for us?â
That question hit differently.
Sharon went quiet.
Helen continuedâŠ
âYou stopped your own dreams just to take care of us,â she said. âHow long will you keep doing this?â You are still in the village because of us, you're a graduate sister, stop using this excuse that mom and dad had the opportunity to take you to school that we your siblings must go to school, you have done your best sister, God knows that, Kingsley and I knows that. When are you going to pick up yourself and start leaving in your dreams?
Sharon swallowed hard.
âMy dream is to provide for my family,â she replied.
Helen shook her head slowly, tears forming in her eyes.
âI donât want this kind of life forâ she whispered.
Sharon reached out and held her hand.
âAnd I donât want this life for you either,â she said gently. âThatâs why Iâm fighting.â
Helen wiped her tears quickly.
âBut how?â she asked. âWhere will the money come from?â
Sharon hesitatedâŠ
Then she spoke.
WELCOME TO KWIIN ROSEY STORIES âđŒ
After a while, a thought flashed through Helenâs mind.
âSisterâŠâ she called suddenly. âWhat about that your friend back in the university?â
Sharon frowned slightly, trying to remember.
âMy friend?â she asked slowly.
She paused for a moment⊠then her eyes widened a little.
ââŠPeculiar?â
âYes! Peculiar!â Helen said immediately, her face lighting up. âWhy not ask her for help? She was so nice during our parentsâ funeral.â
Sharon let out a short, dry laugh.
âPeculiar?â she repeated. âItâs been three years since I last heard from her. I stopped calling⊠and she did the same. Calling her now for help sounds⊠weird.â
âSisterâŠâ Helen adjusted her sitting position, her face turning serious.
âYouâre not asking her for money,â she said firmly. âJust tell her you need a job. What if she has an opportunity?â
Sharon shook her head immediately.
âNo,â she said. âPeculiar is a nice person, yes⊠but I donât think itâs right.â
Helen leaned closer.
âYou said she stays in Lagos, right?â
Sharon hesitated.
ââŠI think so.â
Helen clapped her hands softly.
âThatâs even better!â she said. âSister, please call her. Tell her your situation.â
Sharon looked away, still unsure.
âA closed mouth is a closed destiny,â Helen added, her voice filled with urgency.
âWe need help. If we donât act fast⊠we might not survive this.â
Those words hung heavy in the air.
Sharon swallowed hard.
âI still donât think itâs a good idea,â she said quietly. âI canât just leave you and Kingsley here.â
âSister,â Helen said firmly, âKingsley and I will be fine. Just call her first and hear what she has to say.â
Sharon sighed deeply, running her fingers through her hair.
âI canât leave you two alone,â she insisted. âYou and Kingsley only give me BP every day. The way you both fight, one day Iâll think something bad has happened to that boy.â
Helen rolled her eyes slightly.
âSister, thatâs not the issue right now,â she said. âLeave that one first. Just call her.â
Sharon remained silent.
Her heart was heavy.
Her pride⊠her fear⊠her responsibilities⊠all pulling her in different directions.
Helen reached for her hand.
âPlease,â she said softly this time. âDo it for us.â
Sharon looked at her sisterâŠ
Then slowly nodded.
âOkayâŠâ she whispered.
Helenâs face lit up instantly.
âCall her now!â she said excitedly.
Sharon hesitated again⊠then reached into her wrapper and brought out her small phone.
Her hands trembled slightly as she scrolled through old contacts.
Then she found it.
Peculiar.
She stared at the name for a few secondsâŠ
Memories rushing back.
Laughter. School days. Friendship.
Then suddenlyâŠ
Distance.
She took a deep breathâŠ
And dialed the number.
It rang onceâŠ
TwiceâŠ
Three timesâŠ
Sharonâs heart was beating fast.
âPlease pick upâŠâ she muttered under her breath.
Then.......
Click.
âHello?â Peculiar spoke from the other end.
Sharon froze.
Her throat went dry.
ââŠHello?â the voice repeated.
Sharon finally found her voice.
âPeculiarâŠ?â she called softly.
âWait⊠Sharon??â
Sharonâs eyes widened.
ââŠYes.â
âOh my God!â Peculiar exclaimed. âSharon! After how many years?!â
Helen quickly moved closer, listening with excitement.
Sharon forced a small smile.
âItâs been a while,â she said.
âA while?â Peculiar laughed. âYou disappeared! I even thought you forgot about me.â My phone was stolen so I misplaced your number.
Sharonâs smile faded slightly.
âIâm sorryâŠâ she said quietly. I was going through a lot, in fact I'm still trying to balance life.
There was a short pause.
Then Peculiarâs voice softened.
âItâs okay,â she said. âLife happens. But Iâm really happy you called.â
This was the moment.
Her fingers tightened around the phone.
âI⊠I actually called becauseâŠâ she began, her voice shaking slightly.
Helen held her hand tightly, encouraging her.
Sharon took a deep breath.
âI need your help.â I'm really suffering, I have no job, no money to care for my younger ones again.

Sharon burst into tears.
âPleaseâŠâ she cried, her voice breaking. âIf you can⊠please help me look for a job over there⊠Iâll be grateful.â
There was silence on the other end for a few seconds.
Helen watched closely, her own eyes already watery.
Peculiar took a deep breath before responding.
âSharonâŠâ she said slowly, her tone now serious. âIâm really sorry⊠Lagos is tough. Itâs not as easy as it looks.â
Sharon sniffed, trying to control her tears.
âI donât have any opportunity right now that I can assure you,â Peculiar continued. âBut I promise⊠I will try my best to look for something for you.â
Sharon nodded quickly, even though she couldnât be seen.
âThat will be better,â she said hurriedly. âPlease donât hesitate to call me when you find anything. I can work anywhere⊠anything at all.â
âI understand,â Peculiar replied softly. âJust stay strong, okay?â
âI will,â Sharon whispered.
âAlright⊠Iâll get back to you soon,â Peculiar said.
âThank youâŠâ Sharon added faintly.
Then.......
The call ended.

Back in LagosâŠ
Jide and Jennifer were living in the moment, completely lost in their world.
Jennifer spending the night had been⊠unforgettable.
That morning, Jide sat on the couch wearing only his boxers, looking relaxed and satisfied.
Jennifer, dressed in her silky nightwear, rested her head gently on his broad chest.
The room was quietâŠ
Filled with the memory of the night before.
Jide smirked, brushing his fingers lightly on her arm.
âLast night was something else,â he said with a playful tone.
Jennifer smiled faintlyâŠ
But her mind was elsewhere.
Slowly, she lifted her head and looked at him.
âI have something to tell you,â she whispered.
Jide grinned and leaned in, trying to k!ss herâŠ
But Jennifer gently pushed him back.
âJide⊠letâs talk first,â she said.
Jide raised a brow, then sat upright, his expression turning a bit serious.
âAlright,â he said. âGo on⊠my first lady, the love of my soul.â
Jennifer smiled slightly⊠then took a deep breath.
âI want us.â
Jide frowned.
âYou want us?â he repeated, confused.
She nodded.
âJide⊠I donât want this to end,â she said softly. âI want all of you.â
Jide blinked, still not fully understanding.
âOkay⊠you already have all of me last night,â he replied casually.
Jennifer shook her head.
âNo⊠I mean.....â she said, her voice more intense now. âI want you to be my boyfriend.â
There was a brief silence.
âI love you, Jide.â
For a secondâŠ
Everything froze.
Then suddenly......
Jide burst into laughter.
He stood up, adjusting his boxers, shaking his head in disbelief.
âJennifer⊠what are you saying?â he asked. âI thought we were just enjoying ourselves.â You said no strings attached.
Jenniferâs face tightened slightly.
âI know I said that before,â she replied. âBut Iâve changed my mind.â
Jide ran his hand through his hair, pacing slightly.
âBut why?â he asked. âJennifer, I donât do commitments.â
He stopped and faced her.
âEverything between us is just for pleasure. You enjoy me, I enjoy you. Thatâs it.â
Jennifer stood up slowly.
âIâm not asking for too much,â she said. âI can even share you⊠but I want you to be mine. I love you.â
Jideâs expression hardened immediately.
âJennifer⊠please leave.â
Her eyes widened in shock.
âWhat?â she asked. âYou want me out because I said how I feel about you?â
Jide didnât hesitate.
âYes,â he said coldly. âIt wouldâve been better if you kept it to yourself.â
He picked up her clothes and threw them toward her.
âI was beginning to enjoy this,â he added. âYou just ruined everything. I donât want to see you again.â
Jennifer stood there, stunned.
Hurt.
Angry.
She quickly grabbed her clothes, her hands shaking.
âFine!â she snapped. âDonât come begging me later, okay? Fool!â
Jide smiles.
âI will never,â he replied.
Jennifer glared at him one last timeâŠ
Then stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
The room fell silent.
Jide stood still for a momentâŠ
Then exhaled deeply.
âLoveâŠâ he muttered. âNonsense.â
âI donât have time for this,â he said.

EPISODE 2
Chidi adjusted his tie nervously as he stood in his office, his phone still in his hand.
âOkay sirâ he muttered under his breath. âThis man no dey ever restâŠâ
He sighed and walked away quickly to carry out the order.
Inside the office, Jide leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. His face was calm, but his eyes held something deeper.
For a brief second⊠Lindaâs tearful face flashed in his mind.
He scoffed.
âWomenâŠâ he muttered coldly. âAlways emotional.â Always dramatic
Just then, his phone buzzed.
It was his mother.
Jide stared at the screen for a moment⊠then declined the call.
âI donât have the energy for another lecture this morning,â he said under his breath.
MeanwhileâŠ
In the village, the sun had barely risen when Sharon was already up, tying her wrapper tightly around her waist.
She stepped outside, carrying a small basket, ready to head to the farm.
Helen rushed out after her.
âSister, wait!â she called.
Sharon turned.
âI will go with you today,â Helen said softly.
Sharon frowned slightly. âWhat about your studies?â
Helen forced a small smile. âWhat am I studying for again⊠when thereâs no exam money?â
Those words hit Sharon hard.
Her chest tightened, but she quickly masked it.
âDonât say that,â Sharon said firmly. âYou will write that exam.â I'm going to work hard and pay for your exam.
Helen shook her head slowly.
âYouâve been saying that for years, sisterâŠâ
Silence fell between them.
Then Kingsley suddenly appeared, rubbing his eyes.
âI will go too,â he said.
Sharon looked at both of them⊠then sighed.
âAlright,â she said quietly. âLetâs go together.â
The three of them walked side by side, their shadows stretching long on the dusty road.
They had nothingâŠ
âŠbut they had each other.
Back in LagosâŠ
Chidi walked into the reception area with a file in his hand.
âAlright, listen everyone,â he announced. âWe are hiring a new personal assistant for Mr. Jide.â
The female staff exchanged glances immediately.
âAnother one?â one whispered.
âWhat happened to Linda? Was she fired? That lady was so good at her jobâ another muttered.
"I heard she was having an affair with the boss, no one lectured her about Jide, I pity her! Another whispered.
Chidi cleared his throat. Okay, Enough!!! You all. Back to what I was saying.
âQualifications are simpleâcompetent, disciplined, and strictly professional.â Must be able to work under pressure
He paused, then added,
âAnd this time⊠no nonsense.â
A few people chuckled quietly.
Just then, the office doors openedâŠ
And a young woman stepped in.
She was looking luxuriousâŠ
With heavy makeup. flashy clothes.
Full of confidence and steez.
Her eyes were calm⊠but determined.
âGood morning,â she said politely. âI want to see your boss"
Chidi looked up at her⊠and something about her made him pause.
âWhatâs your name?â he asked.
âJennifer,â she replied.
Chidiâs brows lifted slightly.
âJennifer⊠what?â
Enough of this interrogation, tell your boss that his first lady wants to see him. She said, still maintaining her steez
Chidi nodded slowly.
âAlright, Miss Jennifer,â he said. I'll get back to you shortly.
Jennifer gave a small smile.

Chidi nodded and turned, heading straight to Jideâs office. First lady Ke?
He knocked.
âCome in.â
âSir⊠there's a lady,â Chidi began carefully, âshe insists on seeing you. Says sheâs your ⊠first lady.â Jennifer is her name.
Jide paused.
Then suddenly
A slow smile spread across his face.
âSend her in.â
Chidi raised a brow but said nothing as he stepped out.
Moments laterâŠ
The door opened.
Jennifer walked in with confidence, her heels echoing softly against the floor.
When Jide saw her his expression changed completely.
âJenniferâŠâ he called, almost surprised.
A wide grin appeared on his face.
Without thinking, he stood up immediately and walked toward her.
âWow⊠I didnât expect to see you here.â
Jennifer smiled, dropping her bag casually.
âMissed me?â she asked playfully.
Jide didnât even respond with words.
He pulled her closer and k!ssed her passionately.
For a momentâŠ
The office no longer felt like a workplace.
It felt like Abuja all over again.
When they finally pulled apart, Jennifer laughed softly.
âSo⊠you do remember me,â she teased.
Jide smiled sheepishly.
âHow can I forget?â he replied. âYou made my stay in Abuja⊠very interesting.â
Jennifer folded her arms.
âInteresting?â she repeated. âIs that all?â
Jide chuckled.
âOkay⊠more than interesting.â You took me over the moon đ
They both laughed lightly.
Jide walked back to his desk, leaning against it as he watched her.
âSo what brings you to Lagos?â he asked.
Jennifer walked around the office slowly, admiring the space like she already belonged there.
âI came for you,â she said simply.
Jide raised a brow.
âFor me?â
She stopped and faced him.
âYes. I donât like unfinished stories⊠and what we had in Abuja felt unfinished.â
Jideâs eyes darkened slightly with amusement.
âYouâre bold,â he said. And I like that.
âI know,â she replied confidently.
There was a brief silence.
Then Jide shook his head with a soft laugh.âYou havenât changed.â
âNeither have you,â she shot back.
Their eyes locked for a momentâŠ
Filled with tension.
Memories.
Just then
A knock interrupted them.
Jide sighed, slightly annoyed.
âWhat is it?â he snapped.
Chidi opened the door halfway.
âSir⊠Your mom is here.â
Jide ran a hand through his hair.
âFine. Give me five minutes.â
Chidi nodded and closed the door.
Jennifer picked up her bag.
âMummy's boy,â she said lightly. I'll come back another time.
Jide stepped closer.
âYouâre not leaving, are you?â
Jennifer smiled.
âIâll be around,â she said. âAfter all⊠I didnât come all this way for nothing.â
She walked toward the door, then paused.
âAnd JideâŠâ
He looked up.
âThis time⊠Iâm making you go crazy đ”âđ«.â
With that, she walked out.
Jide exhaled slowly, watching the door close

Jide exhaled slowly, watching the door close.
âHmmâŠâ he muttered, a faint smile playing on his lips as he adjusted his tie.
But that smile didnât last long.
Almost immediately, his face hardened.
âMy motherâŠâ he said under his breath. âNot perfect timing.â
A few seconds later, the door opened again this time without a knock.
Mrs. Nnamdi walked in gracefully, but her presence carried authority.
âJide,â she called, her voice firm.
Jide straightened instantly.
âMom.â What are you doing here?
She looked around the office briefly before settling her sharp gaze on him.
Is that how you welcome your mother? By the way âI called you this morning,â she said.
âI was busy,â Jide replied calmly.
âToo busy to pick up your motherâs call?â she shot back.
Jide sighed lightly, walking past her.
âIâm at work, not at home. Can we not do this here?â
Mrs. Nnamdi moved closer, lowering her voice slightly.
âThen behave like youâre at work,â she said pointedly. âBecause from what I just heard downstairs⊠youâre turning this office into something else entirely.â
Jideâs jaw tightened.
âPeople talk too much in this office, and I promise I'll fetch them out and punish them.â
âDo they?â she challenged. âOr are they simply telling the truth?â Why can't you be responsible for once, Jide?
She folded her arms her gaze fixed on him.
âI met a lady walking out of this place just now. Bold⊠confident⊠shameless,â she said. âIs that the kind of woman you now entertain in your office?â So you have extended your wayward life into the office?
Jide let out a short laugh.
âMom, please. Donât start judging people you donât even know.â Do you know if she's our potential client?
Client indeed, âI donât need to know her to know trouble when I see one,â she replied sharply. That woman is not good for you!
She stepped closer.
âJide, listen to me carefully. Your lifestyle will destroy you if youâre not careful.â
Jide turned away, clearly uninterested.
âIâm fine.â Mom, I enjoyed what I'm doing, I'm living my life, please đ„ș stop lecturing me, I'm a grown-up!
âNo, you are not!â she snapped.
Her voice softened slightly.
âYou push away your family⊠and surround yourself with the wrong ones.â
Jide chuckled dryly.
âMom, I Love women! â he repeated. âThey make me happy?â
I love my life the way it isâŠ
©ïžKwiin rosey stories âđŒ
Mrs. Nnamdi stared at him for a long momentâŠ
Disappointment clearly written all over her face.
âIs that what you call a life?â she asked quietly. âMoving from one woman to another? No direction⊠no responsibility?â
Jide rolled his eyes slightly.
âHere we go againâŠâ
She stepped closer, her voice firmer now.
âListen to me, Jide. This is no longer just about your personal life.â
That got his attention.
He looked at her.
âWhat do you mean?â
Mrs. Nnamdi took a deep breath.
âYour father is not happy,â she said. âHeâs been watching you⊠your behavior, your recklessness, your lack of seriousness.â
Jideâs expression tightened slightly.
âAnd?â he asked.
âAnd if you donât change,â she continued slowly, âhe will take this company from you.â
Jide froze.
ââŠWhat?â
âHe will hand it over to your brother,â she added firmly. âAnd you will be left with nothing.â
The words hit hard.
For the first timeâŠ
Jide didnât have a comeback.
âYouâre joking,â he said, but his voice lacked confidence.
âI am not,â she replied. âYour father is serious this time.â
Jide looked away, running a hand through his hair.
âYou better wise up, Jide,â she warned. âBefore itâs too late.â
Without waiting for his response, she turned and walked out.
The door closed.
And for a momentâŠ
The office felt too quiet.
Jide stood there, staring into space.
Her words echoed in his head.
âHe will take this company from youâŠâ
âYou will be left with nothingâŠâ
Jide felt something unfamiliar.
Fear.
Confusion.
But just as quicklyâŠ
He shook it off.
âImpossible,â he muttered. âDad canât do that.â
Later that nightâŠ
Jide sat alone in his living room, a glass of drink in his hand.
The house was quiet.
Too quiet.
His motherâs words kept replaying in his mind.
Frustrated, he dropped the glass on the table and grabbed his phone.
He scrolledâŠ
Then stopped.
Jennifer.
A slow smile crept onto his lips.
âYeahâŠâ he muttered. âI need a distraction.â
He dialed her number.
It rang onceâŠ
TwiceâŠ
Then......
âHello?â
âHey⊠itâs me. Jide.â
A soft laugh came from the other end.
âHmm⊠mummyâs boy,â Jennifer teased. âGood to hear from you tonight. I was just thinking about you.â
Jide smirked.
âWow⊠I must be really lucky for a beautiful damsel to be thinking about me.â
âMaybe you are,â she replied playfully.
Jide leaned back.
âWhy donât you come over?â he said.
There was a slight pause.
âHmmm⊠are you thinking what Iâm thinking?â Jennifer asked, a smile in her voice.
Jide chuckled.
âI promise nothing is going to happen⊠just a movie night.â
Jennifer laughed softly.
âThen Iâm not coming,â she said bluntly. âI want more than that.â
Jide shook his head, smiling.
âI was just kidding,â he said. âI canât wait to see you again⊠I want to relive those Abuja moments.â
Jenniferâs voice dropped slightly.
âNow youâre talkingâŠâ
âSend me your address,â she added. âIâm all yours tonight.â
Jideâs smile widened.
âAlready sent.â
He hung up and leaned back.
Just like thatâŠ
His motherâs warning faded into the background.
Pleasure over responsibility.
Same old Jide.

Later that eveningâŠ
Chidi arrived at his girlfriendâs house, a small smile on his face despite how exhausted he looked.
The door opened, and Peculiar rushed out excitedly.
âBaby!â she squealed, jumping into his arms.
Chidi laughed softly, holding her close.
âHappy birthday, my love,â he said, handing over the gift bags.
Peculiarâs eyes widened.
âAhhh! You bought all these for me?â she asked, clearly excited.
âOf course,â Chidi replied. âOnly the best for my baby.â
She pulled him inside quickly, dropping the gifts on the table before hugging him again.
âYouâre the best,â she said, smiling brightly.
After some time of laughter, food, and playful teasingâŠ
They both settled on the couch.
Peculiar noticed the change in his mood.
Chidi looked drained.
Completely exhausted.
She frowned slightly, turning to face him.
âBabe⊠whatâs wrong?â she asked softly. âYou look so tired.â
Chidi sighed deeply, leaning back.
âA lot of work today,â he muttered. âMy boss fired his personal assistant.â
Peculiarâs brows furrowed.
âWhy would he fire her?â
Chidi shook his head slowly.
âItâs a long storyâŠâ
Peculiar adjusted herself properly, facing him fully.
âIâm all ears. Tell me everything,â she said eagerly.
Chidi smiles faintly.
âYou like aproko too much,â he teased.
Peculiar laughed.
âYes na! Thatâs why you love me,â she replied playfully.
Chidi exhaled.
âI heard she was having an affair with the boss,â he said quietly. âAnd sheâs not even the first. Once my boss sleeps with them⊠the next thing, he fires them.â
Peculiarâs eyes widened in shock.
âAhhh! What kind of man is that?â she exclaimed. âYour boss must be very stupid. But some women sefâŠâ she added, hissing dramatically.
Chidi nodded tiredly.
âNow weâre looking for a new personal assistant again,â he said.
âDo you have anyone you want to recommend?â Chidi asked.
âGod forbid!â she said immediately. âI will never allow any of my close ones work for that your womanizer boss.â
Chidi chuckled weakly.
âAre they going there to sleep with him?â he asked. âBusiness is business.â
Peculiar shook her head stubbornly.
âNot under my watch,â she said firmly.
Chidi sighed and slowly stood up.
âLet me start going,â he said, stretching slightly.
Peculiar frowned.
âAh ah, youâre not going home tonight oh. Itâs already late,â she protested.
âI still have emails to reply,â Chidi replied. âAnd I need to be at work early tomorrow. Your place is far.â
Peculiar folded her arms.
âHmmm⊠that your boss should not k!ll you with work oh,â she said. âOkay, goodnight.â
Chidi smiled faintly.
âGoodnight, my love.â
They shared a brief kissâŠ
And Chidi drove out into the night.

âJide! How many times have I warned you to stop this habit of drinking and womanizing?â Mr. Nnamdi thundered angrily. âYour mother and I did not raise you to become this useless!â
Jide scoffed, running a hand through his hair, completely unbothered.
âWith all due respect, sir, Iâm just having fun. Why is it so hard for you to let me live my life?â You have other children focus on them.
Kpuchie ĂnĂș âShut that dirty mouth of yours!â Mrs. Nnamdi snapped, her eyes blazing with anger. âI will not sit here and watch you disrespect your father!â
She stepped closer, pointing a trembling finger at him.
âJide, it is high time you settled down! You are not getting younger, and also Focus on the company instead of gallivanting all over Lagos like an abandoned project! Moving from one woman to another like an undisciplined animal, we trained you better than this!â
Jide let out a dry laugh, shaking his head.
âMom, I am handling the company very well, I don't mix business with pleasure, you should applaud me for that. Iâm doing my best, you know that!â His voice rose slightly. âBut marriage? Me? Jide! Thatâs never happening. Not now, not ever.â
He picked up his car keys, already heading for the door.
âYou have another son and a daughter. Let them worry about marriage. As for me I'm not interested.â I cannot be in a marriage and one day one woman would just k. Ill me because I'm not faithful, I can never be committed to one woman.
âJide, Iâm not done talking to you!â Mrs. Nnamdi shouted, rushing after him. Why can't you be committed?
But Jide didnât look back.
He slammed the door hard behind him, the sound echoing through the house like a final statement.
Outside, the evening air was cool, but his anger burned hotter than ever.
Within seconds, he got into his car, started the engine, and sped off into the night...leaving behind not just his parentsâŠ
âŠbut the life they desperately wanted for him.

As soon as Jide got home, Nancyâone of the many women in his life was already waiting patiently for him in the living room.
The moment he saw her, his face lit up with a mischievous smile.
âNancyâŠâ he called softly.
Without hesitation, he dropped his suitcase to the floor.
Nancy smiled, walking closer, her eyes filled with desire.
In one swift movement, Jide pulled her to himself, his hands wrapping firmly around her waist as he k!ssed her hungrily. She giggled softly, already used to his wild nature.
âMissed me?â she whispered.
âAlways,â Jide replied, his voice low and teasing.
He lifted her effortlessly, and within seconds, they disappeared into his bedroom lost in a world of pleasure.
Meanwhile⊠in the village
âKingsley!â Helen screamed, grabbing him by his shirt tightly. âWhere is the money I kept in my savings box?!â
âLeave me!â Kingsley struggled, trying to free himself. âHow can you be keeping that kind of money when we are starving in this house?â
Helenâs eyes widened in shock and anger.
âSo you stole my money?â she snapped. âThe money Iâve been saving for years?!â
In a fit of rage, she removed her slippers and began hitting him.
âYou th!ef! W!cked boy!â she cried as Kingsley shouted in pain, trying to dodge her blows.
Just then, Sharon their eldest sisterârushed into the room after hearing the commotion.
âWhat is going on here again?â she demanded, looking from one to the other in frustration.
âSister!â Helen said quickly, almost in tears. âKingsley stole my savings! The money I was keeping for my exam!â
âSister, listen to me!â Kingsley cut in immediately. âYesterday, you went out to look for a job. Helen went to lectures. There was no food, no money⊠I was hungry!â
His voice cracked slightly.
âI thought⊠if I didnât take the money, we might starve. Didnât you eat the food I bought yesterday?â he asked, looking at Helen.
Helen raised her hand to hit him again, but Sharon quickly stepped in between them.
âHelen, stop!â she said firmly, holding her back.
Then her voice softened.
âIâm sorry⊠this is all my fault,â Sharon said, her eyes filling with tears. âIf I had a job, none of this would be happening.â
âBut sisterâŠâ Helenâs voice broke. âThis is my exam money. Iâve been saving it for years. My mates are already in the university, and Iâm still here trying to write this exam⊠this is the third time!â
Sharon pulled her into a tight embrace.
âI know⊠I know,â she whispered. âBut I promise you, once I get a job, I will make everything right. Anything you want, I will do it for you.â
She then turned to Kingsley, her expression turning serious.
âAnd youânever in your life touch what doesnât belong to you again. Do you hear me?â
Kingsley lowered his head in shame.
âYes, sisterâŠâ he muttered softly.

In the middle of the night, while Kingsley and Helen were fast asleep, Sharon lay awake, staring blankly into the darkness.
Sleep had completely abandoned her.
The weight of their situation pressed heavily on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
She turned slowly, looking at her siblings lying helplessly on the thin mattress.
Her heart ached.
She couldnât provide for them.
No job.
No money.
No hope.
Most days, they barely had one proper meal.
To survive, she worked tirelessly on the farm, earning just a little tokenânever enough, but still something.
Tears gathered in her eyes as painful memories flooded back.
Their parents had died in a tragic car accident just a few years ago⊠and ever since then, life had never remained the same.
Her uncle had come shortly after their death and packed away everything their father had worked so hard to build.
Everything.
Sometimes⊠Sharon couldnât help but wonder
Was it really just an accident?
Or was her uncle somehow involved?
She shook her head, trying to push the thought away, but it lingered like a shadow she couldnât escape.
Even though the same uncle had asked them to come and live with him, Sharon refused.
She chose to stay back⊠to struggle⊠to sufferâjust to keep her siblings close and safe.
Tears slipped quietly down her cheeks.
âHow will I survive this?â she whispered to herself.
Her voice trembled.
âHow will I take care of my siblings?â
She looked over at Helen.
âHelen is supposed to be in the university by nowâŠâ she murmured painfully. âShe has been trying to write this exam for yearsâŠâ
Her gaze shifted to Kingsley.
âAnd KingsleyâŠâ her voice broke, âhe has already stopped going to school because I canât afford his fees.â
She buried her face in her hands.
âNo job⊠no help⊠nothingâŠâ she cried softly.
The silence of the night swallowed her pain, but her heart screamed louder than ever.
For the first time in a long whileâŠ
Sharon felt completely helpless.

Back in the busy city of Lagos, Jide woke up early the next morning.
He got dressed for work like nothing had happened the night before.
After dropping Nancy off at her place, he drove straight to the office.
As soon as he arrived, the atmosphere changed.
The staff greeted him with respect almost like royalty.
âGood morning, sir.â
âWelcome, sir.â
Jide simply nodded, his usual cold expression firmly in place, as he walked straight into his office.
A few minutes later, a knock came on the door.
âCome in,â he said without looking up.
The door opened, and an angry, young, beautiful woman stormed in.
âSir,â she said sharply, throwing a letter onto his desk, âChidi gave me this. What is the meaning of this?â
Jide glanced at the letter briefly, then leaned back in his chair, completely unbothered.
âMiss Linda,â he said calmly, âI believe you can read. It clearly states that your services are no longer needed in this company.â
Linda froze, her eyes burning with anger.
âWhy?â she demanded, adjusting her skirt as she walked slowly toward him. âOne minute, youâre all over me⊠and the next, youâre firing me?â
"No, you were over me, you opened and I entered! Jide replied. You were my staff you should have maintained that.
Jide, I thought we were becoming serious with each other, Linda said in frustration.
Jideâs gaze darkened as he studied her.
âYou get it now, donât you?â he said coldly. âI cannot have a personal assistant Iâve been involved with. Itâs unprofessional.â
âBut you wanted me!â Linda snapped, her voice shaking with emotion.
Jide let out a low, mocking laugh.
âNo,â he corrected. âYou wanted me⊠and I gave you what you wanted.â
He leaned forward slightly.
âThis is a business environment, not a nightclub. When Iâm here, I donât tolerate distractions and right now, you are a big one.â
Tears gathered in Lindaâs eyes.
âPlease, Jide⊠Iâm begging you,â she said, her voice breaking. âI need this job. My family depends on me.â
Jideâs expression didnât change.
âYou should have thought about that before crossing the line,â he replied coldly. âI tried to resist you, Linda. I knew you were good at your job though good at the other side⊠but clearly, that wasnât what I wanted.â
He smirked slightly, his words cutting deep.
âAnd now here we are.â
âJide!â Linda shouted, tears falling freely. âYou told me you loved me!â
Jide burst into a dry laugh.
âAnd you believed me?â he said harshly. âIâve said those words to more women than I can count.â
His voice turned colder, sharper.
âNow you know the truth I donât care about you. So take your things⊠and leave my office.â
Linda stepped back slowly, her heart shattered.
âJide⊠God will judge you,â she said weakly before turning and walking out.
The door closed behind her.
Silence.........
As if nothing had happened, Jide picked up his phone.
âChidi,â he said flatly, âget me a new personal assistant. Immediately.â
