Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has given the administration of President Bola Tinubu a rare “100 percent” rating, declaring that the President has not only saved Nigeria from imminent collapse but also laid a solid foundation for long-term stability and growth. Speaking during a media briefing to mark the administration’s third anniversary, Uzodimma praised Tinubu’s bold reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the overhaul of foreign exchange policies, which he argued have steered the nation away from fiscal disaster. He insisted that critics fail to appreciate the depth of the crisis Tinubu inherited, and that without his decisive leadership, Nigeria would have spiraled into bankruptcy and chaos.

The governor’s glowing assessment stands in stark contrast to widespread public discontent over rising living costs, insecurity, and industrial unrest. However, Uzodimma maintained that the pain of reform is temporary and that history would vindicate the President. Today, I have escalated these efforts. I have formally written to INTERPOL Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza in Lyon, France, with copies sent to the UK National Crime Agency, the UK Serious Fraud Office, the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and Sweden’s SAPO.

The subject of these filings is Seyi Tinubu and alleged money laundering involving a £9 million London mansion purchased through the British Virgin Islands shell company Aranda Overseas Corporation.

This property was acquired at a time it was under Nigerian government confiscation proceedings as the proceeds of a $1.6 billion fraud, documented by Bloomberg and confirmed by the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.

Under UK law, the National Crime Agency can issue an Unexplained Wealth Order, requiring Seyi Tinubu to explain the source of funds for this property. If he cannot provide a satisfactory explanation, the property can be seized—even without a criminal conviction.

Similar orders have been used to freeze £24 million in properties belonging to the wife of a corrupt Azerbaijani banker and over $730 million of Isabel dos Santos’s assets.

Through INTERPOL, a Red Notice could lead to Seyi Tinubu’s detention at airports across Europe—including Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, and Stockholm—pending extradition proceedings. This is a real, actionable mechanism, not a theoretical threat.

To every Nigerian reading this: while citizens face rising fuel costs, underfunded hospitals, a weakening currency ada hardship, funds linked to the Tinubu family were being used to acquire luxurious London properties.

This stops now.

Not with noise. Not with protests that are ignored.
