National Boundary Commission Amicably Settles Ette Boundary Dispute, Affirms Community is Under Administrative Jurisdiction of Kogi State
A decades-old jurisdictional dispute over Community has been settled by the National Boundary Commission (NBC), which has officially placed it within Kogi State.
In a letter dated 7th December 2025, the National Boundary Commission stated that a map on the Enugu and Kogi interstate boundary alignment forwarded to the States on the 14th of July 2025, puts Ette Community within Kogi State's
The NBC issued a directive ordering the Enugu State Government to immediately suspend all planned activities in the area, including a chieftaincy coronation scheduled for 29th December 2025
Furthermore, the commission instructed the Kogi State Government to assume full responsibility for the security and administration of the community.
This ruling has been accepted by local Enugu officials, who have pledged to adhere to the federal commission’s decision, bringing a peaceful close to the longstanding disagreement.

During the first Christmas Carol at Naval secondary School Umuopu Enugu Ezike today.
Students, teachers and all the staffs gathered as His Royal Majesty, Igwe Cyril Okechukwu Ayogu. Igwe Ogbruru Ugbowu 1 of Umuopu ancient kingdom. The chairman of all traditional rulers in Igbo Eze North, honoured the occasion in a grand style and poured out massive blessings upon the students by the power and authority vested upon him as the traditional ruler of the community.
This is the achievement of Vice admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla (Rtd) under two years in office. This is one of the reasons we are staging one million man march to appreciate him.
