Different between Divorce, Separation, and Desertion.

Divorce, Separation, and Desertion are not the same, but many husbands and wives fail to understand that there's a difference, below are what u need to know:

1. Separation:

You both are still legally married, but living apart.
It may even be by agreement.

You are still husband and wife
You cannot remarry

2. Divorce
This is the legal end of the marriage by the court.

You are no longer husband and wife
You are free to remarry

3. Desertion
Now this one is serious.

One spouse abandons the other without consent and without good reason, and stays away for a long time.

Both of you are Still married
But one person has “run away” from the marriage
It can be a ground for divorce

Now understand this clearly:

Leaving the house is not always desertion.

But leaving your spouse without explanation, without support, and without returning.

That is where the law starts paying attention.

So,

In Separation, both may agree or just live apart
In Desertion, one person abandons the marriage
In Divorce, court has ended everything

Don’t confuse absence with freedom.
Until court says so, you are still married.

Our marriages must work through Christ our Lord. 🙏🙏
