Sometimes, your perfume is not the problem, you’re just using it wrongly.
To enjoy the full potential of the perfume, ensure to wear them correctly using the few steps I’m about to share.
- Always moisturize after shower.
What this means is as soon as you’re coming out, fresh out of the shower with a little dampness on your skin, moisturize. This makes your perfume oils last longer on your skin.
- Target the pulse points
What this means is that while applying your perfume oils, apply them on your pulse points, this is because the heat helps the perfume diffuser the scent.
Pulse points include your wrists, neck, behind your ears, inside your elbows, etc.
- Dab, not rub
When you apply on your wrist, dab it, not rub it. This is because rubbing it weakens the scent trail faster.
- Layer your scents
Layering of scents is simply combining multiple scents to create a unique and personalized fragrance. For example, I combine my Àsad with Khamràh and then add baccaràt, that’s layering. Don’t forget to start with the heaviest scent.
- Always apply your perfumes right after your shower. You shower, moisturize, next up should be your perfumes before anything else.

A lot of times, when potential clients come for perfume recommendations and I ask them “is it an EDP or a perfume oil that you want?”, they become confused and ask “which one is EDP?”
EDP (Eau de parfum) is simply a combination of fragrance oil and alcohol.
Perfume oil on the other hand is a fragrance in its purest and most concentrated form without the alcohol.
EDP: Mixed with alcohol + fragrance oil
Perfume Oil: No alcohol
It is why EDPs almost never stains your clothes but perfume oils do.
Look at the two pictures below for instance, the one by the left is the EDP while the one by the right is the perfume oil.
Asides from the differences in their composition, another notable difference between perfume oils and EDPs is that perfume oils last more on skin and fabric than the EDPs.
