How to check if you have Diastasis Recti
Diastasis recti can occur above the belly button, below the belly button and at the belly button. Your provider will use their hands and fingers to feel the abdominal area for gaps and muscle tone. Some providers may use ultrasound, measuring tape or a tool called a caliper for a more accurate measurement.
One way to tell if you just have excess weight or an actual muscle gap is by tensing your belly muscles. Try lying flat and then lifting your head like when doing a sit-up. If present, the gap or bulge of diastasis recti will be pronounced in the center of your belly.
Diastasis recti, or abdominal separation, can occur in both men and women. But it is most commonly seen in women after pregnancy.
The most common symptom of diastasis recti is a belly bulge. But there may be other symptoms, such as poor posture and belly pain due to the weakened core muscles.
In some cases, diastasis recti will resolve on its own. Treatment, if needed, can include exercise, surgery, or nonsurgical options

What is Diastasis Recti?
It is a gap between your abdominal muscles of 2cm or more that remains after 3 months of exercise. This happens after giving birth or multiple pregnancies. After birth you must have started doing some exercise and portion control, but your tummy is still big and bloating, I know you must have wonder what the cause and decided to give up on the exercise because the results is not fruitful. It means that you have Diastasis Recti.

When you wake up in the morning, the first thing you should do is to drink your early morning warm water, if the warm water is not at your reach you can as well drink your normal water. Drinking water first thing in the morning (and on an empty stomach) is the best way to start your day.
Effect of Drinking water in an empty stomach.
1. Morning Hydration Remedies Natural Dehydration
You might not feel it, but after a long night’s sleep your body wakes up naturally dehydrated. The amount of water you consume the evening before makes little difference. By the time you wake up, you need to hydrate your body for the day ahead.
2. Drinking Water in the Morning Will Improve Gut Health
Staying properly hydrated may help prevent or relieve the symptoms of numerous health issues. In some cases, drinking water on an empty stomach may make those benefits felt more keenly. Intestinal infections, for example, have been found to be less likely for people who drink more water. 3. Drinking Water in the Morning Will Fuel Your Brain

Some one ask how she would know if she is on the right track for portion control, I quickly sent this plate to her. This plate is for portion control. One main meal and veggies. When decided on which meal to take you must consider eating balance diet. Your meal should contain protein, veggies and carbs. Do not eat only rice without veggies, rice has plenty calories, and veggies must be more than carbs.

When losing weight, there are very important things to to consider.
PORTION CONTROL: Portion control is the quantity of food you eat by reducing from the former size of your meal.
If you used to eat 2 cups of garri or rice you reduce it to 1 cup.
LATE NIGHT FOOD: Remember the late you eat the more you get hungry. My students do ask the best time to eat dinner I told them 6-6.30 at most, they will complain they will be hungry again, yes it happens at times. If u are hungry after eating dinner, drink water, fruit or smoothie. This helps a lot.
